It was cold and snowy here though not much of the white stuff stuck to the ground. Mom mostly stayed home after running a couple of errands. We mostly slept.

Good news (if you missed it): Huzzah was adopted on Wednesday. Her new mom is in her early 20s and a first time cat owner, but Huzzah is a good fit. Mom got a text that the first night she was on a smaller room. Next morning she decided enough of that and slipped out into the house when the door opened.
The Texas kittens were spayed and neutered on Friday. Sunday they got their microchips and are now at the adoption center ready to go home.
And....Hibiscus, Lantana and Verbena all got adopted!
The muffin kittens have a new version of baby jail in the living room. They have more room to bounce around. They can't get out (yet) though the girls can get in to check the food bowls for leftovers.
So baby jail 2.0 lasted about 4 hours before Cranberry realized he could climb over. We have moved on to baby jail 3.0. Mom has to clean the foster room and them they will go in there, though still in the crate for another week.
Gone is the goal. But wow it's quiet.
Yippee was adopted on Wednesday and went home with another kitten.
Cats and kittens react differently to surgery and the vet. Most times the fosters come back after surgery and are a little hung over but no real issues.
This crew came home Friday night and were all pretty unhappy about everything. After a couple of hours mom put Hurray in one Kasa cube and Yahoo in the other. The hope was that would sleep it off.
Not so much. Yahoo was better on Saturday. Yippee was fine but very confused about why everyone was hissing and growling at her. Hurray and Huzzah were still pretty mad. It might have helped if we had somewhere Huzzah could have been on her own but we don't have a good space for that.
Fortunately Huzzah seemed to remember the Ikea storage cubes, so she pulled out a drawer and hid in there.
Hurray was better by Sunday. The kittens were all playing and being themselves. Huzzah was fine unless the kittens got up in her space.
They are all online and were featured on the rescue's Facebook page. Hopefully everyone will have approved applications by the time they go to the adoption center on Wednesday.
Spay and neuter day for everyone. Then ready for forever homes.
A post from the mom
I've been getting groceries via pick up pretty much since they started offering it. I hate shopping. I will run in for some things but for staples, I order online and pick up.
Here's the downside: sometimes you don't get things, other times they will substitute.
Last week I ordered cat litter and they substituted the lightweight stuff. I don't normally use that but fine.
Only it wasn't. I used one container in the foster room and NEVER again. It's everywhere. Huzzah is a kicker so it flings all over.
And there is a static issue....it sticks to Yippee like she ran through a box of packing peanuts:
It floats everywhere too. All over the floor. All over the blankets. Under the door. Just no thank you ever again....
Well it got colder so the warm airs are now on until spring. We do have friends getting snow though so it could be worse.
Surgery date is set for Nov. 6th. They are all super playful. Huzzah has started joining in on the game's though she doesn't seem to know her own strength sometimes.
Kittens got vaccines and pawdicure last night. They were super whiny....about the nail clipping. Not a peep for the shot.
Though let's be honest, weekends around here are kind of like weekdays except mom spends less time on the computer.
Mom is still working from home and sits right outside the foster room. She can hear them banging around all the time.
We always like to try to report who the brains of the operation might be....in this group probably Hurray. Those two gray kittens have the brains of a rutabaga.
The video is fun, but if you look closely, you can also see Hurray's ninja tabby stripes.
They've reached the fun bouncy stage...
The look on Huzzah's face is pretty classic:
