goody box

We got our box free of charge from Chewy and wanted to tell you about it. Getting the box did not influence our opinions and all opinions are our own. #ChewyInfluencer

So the other day the big delivery truck left an unexpected box at our door. Mom opened it up and there was a Goody Box inside from Chewy.com. Turns out they are getting in the surprise box business and have one for cats, little dogs and with dog treats. Well color us surprised and excited.

Daiquiri was sent in to inspect the box.
There are toys, treats and catnip along with
a booklet describing each thing in the box.

Toy inspectors say YAY!!

We have to say, nicely done. It was well thought out and put together. And at $19.95, a good value as well for what we got. Mom is giving the broth to the kittens (which they are loving) and marinating some of our toys in the catnip for future use. What fun this would be to send to friends, family or even a rescue.

Thanks for thinking of us Chewy and letting us check out your new Meow You're Talking Goody Box. We give it lots of paws up.

food review #ChewyInfluencer

We received the product at no charge from Chewy.com. All opinions expressed are our own and are not influenced by receiving the product.

This month there was canned food from Taste of the Wild on the list and mom decided to try that. (the link leads to a 5.5 ounce can but we got 3 ounce cans) It is grain free which is what mom is trying to keep all us on.

Daiquiri heard the can open in the foster room and wanted in

the chunks are a decent size with a good amount of gravy
that said, if the kittens were any smaller, mom would have
to mush up the chunks

starving kitten (not)

action shot

The kittens loved it. The first couple of times mom tried to get Mozart to eat it by himself in the bathroom. He licked off ALL the gravy. Fortunately the kittens don't care and were more than happy to play clean up crew for the house panther.

Then over the weekend mom knew we would have to be locked in the back bedroom so our sliding door could be replaced on Saturday. Mom split a can on Friday night and we all thought it was wonderful. She did it again on Saturday morning, and while we were all chowing down....she SHUT THE DOOR!! Dang...busted by the allure of canned food.

This does have a few weird vegetables and fruits in it, but they are pretty far down the list of ingredients. But all in all it seemed to be a hit here with everyone!

food review #ChewyInfluencer

This month for our Chewy.com review mom chose the Solid Gold Purrfect Pairings in chicken and goat milk. There are 6 containers to a box and it is actually more of a mousse consistency rather than chunks or pate (which mom would have known before opening the container had she actually read the description a little closer - we of course don't care one way or another). They have other flavors as well but mom is trying to keep us away from fish for the moment. And it is also grain free which she is trying for us as well.

Mom has been hoping to supplement Mozart and Tommy with wet food. This didn't work out so well on the first attempt mom when she fed them in the bathroom and Tommy didn't like being behind the closed door - even if mom was in there with him and Mo.
Mozart was a fan. He doesn't eat much at one time but he did seem to enjoy it.

Tommy can be hit or miss. Normally he will eat just about anything, but mom suspects with the cold he is still fighting, he can't smell much and nothing much is appealing if it is different from what he normally eats. (on a side note, despite the cold, he IS still eating and drinking so mom isn't too worried about him for the moment)

Mom did decide to serve this meal in the kitchen. It has a door sized opening that allowed her to keep Mo and Tommy in and the others out. She wanted to give the older two boys a chance first. Plus, Spud isn't allowed wet food as bad things happen.....

When Mo and Tommy decided they were done, mom allowed in the clean up crew. Daiquiri, Dandelion and Junior were big fans. Ivy wasn't about to get shut in the kitchen with the orange stalker, so she didn't participate.

The Purrfect Pairings come in 5 flavors - we got chicken. There are 6 containers to a package which works out to about $1.39 per 2.75 ounce package. You should be aware though if you are avoiding fish....the chicken version has tuna in it (seems odd to us).

This is on the Chewy website from the manufacturer:

Key Benefits

  • A holistic grain and gluten free food for cats and kittens of all life stages
  • Unique flavor combo of real chicken and goat milk
  • Picky cats will love the light mousse texture
  • Goat milk provides a highly palatable, easily digestible source of essential nutrients
  • Each Purrfect Pairings Mousse contains 78% moisture, making it a great dietary source of water

**disclaimer: we got the food for free in return for our review. This did not influence our review and any opinions expressed are our own.

litter review

Every month as a #ChewyInfluencer, we get a free item to review. The free stuff does not influence our thoughts and the review below is our own honest opinion.

This month one of the options was cat litter. Heaven knows we go through a lot....and with the kitten foster room now right near the living room, mom thought this might be an interesting item to try. Mom was going to put it in the foster room, but with added kittens, decided to try it in the tower instead.
Admittedly, it is a little pricey for us at $17.99 for a 16 pound bag. (keep in mind that shipping over $49 is free per order and you can also set up an auto-ship account that will give you a discount as well - we use this feature for our food orders). The information on the website states it is vet recommended, 99% dust free, clumps instantly and scoops easy while eliminating odors and lasting longer.

looks like cat litter to us

We are going to say right up front - this is NOT dust free. Not even close. Mom says she had never found a clay litter that actually IS dust free. She used most of the bag into an empty container and dust went everywhere. Granted....pour out a small amount or pour it out slower and it may throw up less dust. But dump it out and you are on your own. However, it is pretty dust free when being kicked around by active kittens.

However, it works like a charm. Everything clumps up hard and once the kittens cover up, the smell is gone pretty quickly as well. For a house with smaller spaces (and less cats), this would be something to really think about using. Mom liked the effectiveness....but it is a bit out of our price range for every day usage.

review

We are a #ChewyInfluencer household and get a product free each month in exchange for an honest review. Receiving the product doesn't influence our opinions - we ARE cats! MOL

This month we got canned food from Nature's Variety. Mom thinks it was the chicken kind, but she didn't take a picture of the box or a can or anything....and she can't remember. We do know it is grain free and mom is trying to make sure she keeps us on that kind of diet.
Mom is trying to find a canned food we will all eat. While she says she doesn't think she will completely switch us all to canned, she would like to try to change one meal a day. So she broke out the expensive paper plates and put a serving out for all of us permanent residents.

Daiquiri and Tommy gave it a try

Mozart had to hold off an orange interloper

Spud was pretty enthusiastic

After sniffing every plate, we give it 3 out of 6. Spud, Daiquiri and Mozart ate their share. Tommy and Ivy sniffed it and walked away. Junior tried it, but didn't eat much.

Fortunately, the foster kittens like this kind and they were more than happy to eat the left overs.

Wellness review

We are part of the Chewy Influencer Group and receive no compensation for our reviews. All opinions are our own. We did receive the food for free but it did not influence our honest opinion.

Amaryllis here reporting from the foster room. The foster lady has been feeding me well. She did try some canned food but after a few meals I decided that wasn't for me. When she was offered something different to try from Chewy, she thought she would see if that appealed to me.
Thankfully she got the salmon and tuna variety. The website says it is grain free and has lots of stuff that will keep me health. The foster lady is just hoping I will eat something to help me from turning into a stick since I am nursing those kittens.

The foster lady says the orange bits are sweet potato and carrots. Not sure that vegetables were going to be my thing, but with enough gravy they were pretty tasty.

*some kitten smelled wet food and was spying on the process

nom nom nom
(she cleaned the bowl with no pausing)

I give it 2 paws up. It had a good bit of gravy which was very delicious. The foster lady has been leaving out the dry food for me and making sure I get this food in addition to that. I like it so much I shoved her out of the way yesterday while she was getting my breakfast ready.

Thanks to Chewy for letting me review this food and providing me with some nutritious noms.

SlimCat Interactive Feeder #ChewyInfluencer

We are part of the Chewy Influencer Group and receive no compensation for our reviews. All opinions are our own. We did receive the toy for free but it did not influence our honest opinion.

We actually got two things to review this month. The first was done last week and now we are going to review the SlimCat Interactive Feeder too. Mom spent a few minutes when she opened the package trying to figure out how to get the treats inside - until she flipped it over and discovered the bottom just unscrews. MOL
She put some treats in there and put it down to see what we would do with it. Now....the point of this toy is to put your cat's regular meal in it and make them work for it. Mom put treats in it just to see if we would be interested in playing with it.

So far the biggest interest is from Spud, Daiquiri and Mozart. Daiquiri likes to play with it and get the treats out but doesn't seem to like the treats mom put in there. Which works out as Mozart likes to follow her around and eat what she leaves behind her. Mom was concerned at first that Princess Destructo (Daiquiri) would try to beat the daylights out of the toy to get the treats out of it. Fortunately it seems pretty destruction proof (especially since Daiquiri has shoved it down the stairs a couple of times).

Mom doesn't think she will use it for our actual meals, but she likes the idea of putting treats inside to make some cats work for those. Right now it is just over $5 at Chewy.com which isn't very expensive for something like this.
