Year in Review - Part 1

January
  Those French City Kittens were still in residence.

  A local group of artists donated cat art to raise money for targeted TNR in our area:

  Miss Calais (now Isadora or Izzy) went home to Connecticut. And we got an update.

  Tostada finally got adopted!!
~~~~~
February
  Nashville came back and hanging out with us to get over a cold.
   After several weeks at one of our partner stores, Margarita found her forever home!!!
~~~~~~~~~

March
   Mom started working on the "new" foster space in the house. It is still a work in progress, but she is glad she figured it out and it gives her the bathroom back. MOL

  Daiquiri developed a weird fascination with the TV in the bedroom.

  Nashville was ADOPTED!!!!

  On March 25, the air was sucked out of the house when Tim crossed Rainbow Bridge. Mom still misses him very much....especially when she sits with the foster kittens since he was so much help in raising great kittens.

  Fortunately to lighten mom's heart, we got a laugh out loud update on Izzy.

  Then these guys arrived:
~~~~~~~~~~
April
  We celebrated Mom's birthday and she got a cute present from the kid. And of course, LOTS of pictures of the new kittens - who were named after a flower theme: Amarylis, Muscari, Trillium, Orchid and Dandelion.
  We got some eyeballs:
  And the baby antics continued:
  Then suddenly the flower kittens were 4 weeks old:
Orchid (her leg warmer gives her away)
Dandelion
~~~~~~~~~~

May
  The flower kittens turned 6 weeks old and mom began to notice some medical issues with Trillium.

  Mom posted about Dog Bite Prevention Week along with 4 other bloggers.

  The kittens continued to grow though there were continued concerns about Trillium.

  The kittens turned 2 months old!!

  Mom took a trip to Best Friends Animal Society with the kid and her parents. part 2 and CalMar
    Mom also wrote about the measure of character after meeting a special cat there.

~~~~~~~~~~
June
  The first of the tree kittens showed up to gain some social skills and were introduced to the flower kittens.
  The tree kittens got names and both groups of kittens melded into one family (though momma cat Amaryllis surely would have been fine without more kittens in the house).
  We posted about Amaryllis trying to find her a home since she was ready to go.
  The 6th tree kitten showed up.  The kittens continued to grow and goof off.
  Trillium continued to stay with another foster mom and the remaining flower kittens went up to the adoption center.
  Mom continued to work with the tree kittens hoping to get the skittish kittens more social.
weekend report
Good news!!!
Amaryllis was adopted on Saturday.
Concats to our only momma cat of the year (so far). Mom got to finalize the adoption and Amaryllis has a nice mom and dad and a younger kitty brother.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The kittens found the pink cube and the games began...

Freedom is now coming up to mom for affection. The two tabby are still pretty skittish. And Juniper appears to be snot free, so mom will be calling to get the appointment to get her spayed.

Amaryllis

Amaryllis goes to be spayed tomorrow and then hopefully to the remote adoption location where mom cleans. (that depends on other adoptions - they have applications)

Amaryllis has been a great momma cat. She did a great job raising the flower kittens. Though it was funny that once she lost interest, she really was done with them. She would still let them nurse if they caught her, but she tried her best to find a spot in the foster room where she could escape them. When the tree kittens were added, mom swears she heard Amaryllis' eyes roll into the back of her head. With them all in there, we can hear Amaryllis grumble grumble grumble but eventually give in to the kittens. We suspect she will be MORE than happy to have some peaceful accommodations to herself for a while. Mom hasn't seen her actually play, but we do suspect she isn't very old. She doesn't seem overly fazed by all of us, though there haven't been any nose to nose meetings.

100% over your shenanigans

kittens? what kittens? I see no kittens....

weekend report

We gained some new kittens over the weekend. Our friend Miss Amanda found a kitten, went back and then found mom and 4 more kittens. She had them for a week and mom was spayed and released since she was feral. The kittens need some socialization and Miss Amanda has a lot going on. After some back and forth, mom picked up the kittens on Saturday morning. There are 2 orange tabbys and 3 torties. The orange boys spent about a day behind the pen in the foster room and are now out with the flower kittens. The girls need a little more work and are behind the pen until mom is sure she can catch them if she needs them.

Amaryllis says - heck NO to more kittens
she is 110% over kitten shenanigans

Orchid would like to know what is in the mysterious carrier

you can see Muscari and Dandelion in the background
with one of the girls putting on her stranger-danger suit

Muscari is VERY sure these kittens will make great playmates

Letting the orange boys out was uneventful. The older kittens are pretty good with them and the boys yell if they get too rough. Of the girls, one is pretty good right now, one needs a little work, and the last one is very sure that mom is evil. MOL They are probably about 5 weeks old, so we have time to get them friendly for adoption. Right now with the girls, mom will pick them up and hold them and she also sits with them when she puts out the canned food twice per day and makes them come right up to her to eat.

Wellness review

We are part of the Chewy Influencer Group and receive no compensation for our reviews. All opinions are our own. We did receive the food for free but it did not influence our honest opinion.

Amaryllis here reporting from the foster room. The foster lady has been feeding me well. She did try some canned food but after a few meals I decided that wasn't for me. When she was offered something different to try from Chewy, she thought she would see if that appealed to me.
Thankfully she got the salmon and tuna variety. The website says it is grain free and has lots of stuff that will keep me health. The foster lady is just hoping I will eat something to help me from turning into a stick since I am nursing those kittens.

The foster lady says the orange bits are sweet potato and carrots. Not sure that vegetables were going to be my thing, but with enough gravy they were pretty tasty.

*some kitten smelled wet food and was spying on the process

nom nom nom
(she cleaned the bowl with no pausing)

I give it 2 paws up. It had a good bit of gravy which was very delicious. The foster lady has been leaving out the dry food for me and making sure I get this food in addition to that. I like it so much I shoved her out of the way yesterday while she was getting my breakfast ready.

Thanks to Chewy for letting me review this food and providing me with some nutritious noms.
