Thankful Thursday.....

Recognize this face???

This is Wendy the momma cat to the fast food boys. And last week during all the badness, she found her forever home!!! Mom didn't get to meet them, but she knows that the furry alien princess will have them charmed in no time. (all the boys were adopted a couple of weeks ago)

Other good news: remember the slobbery kids that were gotted from the evil puppy mills (read more here). Well, both Marie and Edison are going to long term foster homes!!!! Marie is apparently still pretty skittish, but they say Edison has come around quite a bit. Mom will get to see him on Saturday as she takes the first leg of his transport trip. We are all so very thankful these two are getting a second chance for a MUCH better life.

Doc came through surgery very well. Mom put him in the bathroom with the alcohol kittens but he was being a dork and wasn't being "quiet" so mom just let him out. And he proceeded to run around, beat on his sister, chase Junior and then climb up on the footstool to nap - until gravity kicked in and he slid off. MOL  Still no idea how Sally knew what was going on - mom made the appointment from work. We will try again in another week or so.

Fast food kittens.....

Silver went for her lady-gardenectomy today. Mom called yesterday figuring the appointment would be next week and they said "bring her tomorrow". Yikes.....

Also, Annie is still having some issues.....mom suspects she will be back at the v-e-t tomorrow for "plan B". yikes....

And, in case you thought the only kittens were the outlaws and Silver....

Wendy and the kittens are doing very well. BK - our little guy - is now over a pound and only about .25 behind his brothers. Mom put up the baby gate last night and sat in the hall to supervise. She put food in their dish to distract Wendy and then watched. Sonic and Arby managed to get over the gate - and get chased around by Silver. haha Wendy was better than mom hoped. She finally ended up sitting by the gate and hissing a little at the adults as they walked by - if they got to close, but she never tried to get over the gate and never struck out at anyone.

BK  - see, I is getting bigger!!

Sonic - oh you handsome devil....

Arby - can I get outs now??

Rally - nope, not comin' over there lady...

Wendy - what???

oh for the love of......

Mom took Wendy to the shelter on Tuesday cause she and one kitten were snotty. Wendy is still...VERY snotty. We can hear her breathing under the door.....  And mom says she is pretty evil about taking the clavamox. There is talk about giving her a stronger drug, but mom isn't sure what that means for the kittens... gotta check that, though they are basically eating on their own, so no real worries.

However, mom got an email from the shelter. Seems 2 kittens from Louisa's litter tested positive for coccidia. And of course we have one in this litter. Which means the whole crew has been exposed (which could explain why Wendy is so darned skinny). They are working on a one dose treatment as opposed to the traditional 10 day course....

And now, of course for the cute!!

BK
(not sure about what names go with the rest of the kittens)

Another move....

Well, there was another flurry of moving around the house. That mom lady can't seem to make up her mind. As you can see, the "condo" was set back up but in the living room this time (as opposed to the dining room). Mom was going to move stuff around in the 2nd bedroom and put it there until she realized Marble would stake out that space and since we eat in there, we were glad mom changed her mind.

Marg asked what happens to Marble now. The rescue has 2 adoption spots at the local Petco. The next adoption that happens will leave a space that Marble will fill.

Eileen asked if she might be confusing the ees with another group. There was a group of black kittens a couple of weeks ago, but that was the group that Louisa (the mom cat) died and the kittens went back. They were from the shelter. Eastwood and Einstein are from the same rescue that took in Silver and Marble.

baby jail  :)

 So, why were they moved??

One of the crazy foster families from the shelter brought back her momma cat and kittens on Saturday. Said that she couldn't handle them. (what's to handle - they are 4 weeks old???)  Mom figured she would get the email since she didn't think there were other families available that would take a mom and kittens (not sure why - moms make it easier). Yesterday she got the email and picked them up. Wendy is the mom and the shelter named the kittens after fast food restaurants - but mom isn't sure which one is which yet.

the three tabby boys

hey - that is one of Louisa's girls... YEAH!!

another boy

Wendy the mom

Wendy and one of the tabby boys went back to the shelter already this morning. Wendy is VERY snotty and the middle tabby boy in that first picture was acting pretty lethargic as well. The rest are doing eating on their own (which is good since Wendy showed no desire to nurse them last night) and were doing their best impression of mexican jumping beans this morning.
