Quick former foster

3 years ago we had the Greek kittens here.

Sparta was adopted by a local family that stays in touch with us. He is now Elliott and loves his girl and has discovered tv. And he got a party for his birthday.

*thanks for the updates and the pictures Sarah

Stuff

Mom got an update from the family that adopted Sparta now Elliott. As a reminder, he was a birthday gift for their daughter. She is 9 years old now and Elliott is her buddy. They sleep together every night. He waits for her bus to get her home after school. And this past Saturday she was making a movie that required him to wear some business attire.

Mom also ran into Dragon's new mom last week. She is doing well....and discovered their piano. She isn't very good and won't be getting much practice since they are remembering to leave the top down now. She discovered it about 11:30pm one night and danced around on the keyboard.

No kittens yet. Could be a while....but stay tuned.

Foster Update - Pearl

(FYI - the camera went down this morning - no idea why and mom is at work.... sorry)

While we were waiting for new kittens (which happened yesterday in case you missed it), mom reached out to another adopter that she keeps in contact with (thank heaven for social media).....
Remember this cutie???

Yep - that's Pearl of the geology kittens.....she was adopted by a family in Michigan and her mom sent us an update and new pictures (prepare to be amazed). She will be 2 years old next week!

from M: Elsa Pearl the Squirrel has settled in nicely. She has been a perfect fit from the beginning. She is a (THE) mischief maker, leader of the Pantry Raiders, fully able to open cupboards. She'll steal anything in a plastic wrapper, taking it right off your lap or out of my purse, daintily taking it with her teeth. She's an expert at stealthily getting up onto the counters, eating anything in sight (including soy sauce packets; she won't make the same mistake with Chinese hot mustard again LOL). She only gives herself away when she hits the floor in retreat with a resounding "thunk!"  We couldn't love her more♡

Amazing how different she looks....that last picture made mom laugh....cause Pearl is TOTALLY judging you  :)

Random Fridays

Tostada - now Sweet Pea
We got an update from her mom:
"I just wanted to follow up with you about Tostada (Sweet Pea) to let you know how well she has settled in. She has been to the vet who loves her and is happy my household has a cat again.  She is very playful - she loves her toy mice, and anything of mine that is not nailed down.  She loves getting belly rubs - it is amazing how trusting she is.  She is as affectionate as can be and loves curling up next to me wherever I am.  And she travels well.  She doesn't fight getting into her crate, although singing the whole time she is in a car is the norm. She has virtually no adjustment period in transitioning to new places - so she is able to go with me almost anywhere I go overnight. That can be pretty much in my independent life!"

Wow - that is so awesome!!! Heaven knows we worried with how long she had been with us and the rescue, but it sounds like she was just holding out for the purrfect match!

Honestly, if you really want to make the day of someone who fosters and you have adopted their kittens or cats (or dogs)....send them pictures and an update. You will make their day - we promise!

Mom is going to try to finish the kitten area this weekend. She had an idea of using screen doors to close off the space....the interesting part will see her getting the doors from the store to the house in the Beetle. (we promise to make her take pictures)  For now, we have been enjoying the space and Daiquiri has been using the floor covering like a slip and slide. Mom does plan to get a rug to cover the tarp....even if just to keep it from moving all over the place. MOL   #kittenwatch2016

And of course.....there will be basketball.

Random Stuff.....

We were locked in jail last night FOREVER!!!!
Mom: oh please - it was the 2nd bedroom with all of your stuff and it was an hour while the cable guy was here changing our service

And Spud and Ivy didn't have to be in here either!!!
Mom: cause I couldn't catch them and they don't like strangers anyhow

Whatever mom.....

The kittens got their booster shots yesterday and checked out ok. Weighing in at 1 pound 10 ounces, 1 pound 9 ounces and 1 pound 6 ounces (we think this is Gigi). For now, they are out for some time in the evening, but mom has been blocking off our room with the gate (which Ivy hates since she can't get over it). Mom said she may leave the gate off tonight and then maybe tomorrow while she is shopping with grandma she may let them out - unsupervised!! They go back in 2 weeks for boosters and maybe surgery - mom won't give them breakfast and they will see how much everyone weighs.

We plan to nap most of the weekend. Mom is going over to grandma and grandpa's house on Saturday night. Something about the 1st Big Ten Championship football game. She is going to yell for our Spartans to beat them Badgers.
GO GREEN!!!
