Things are still being moved around the living room. The Kitty Kasa (see above) used to be by the bookshelf. Mom is trying to create a "run" along the window wall so we can see out but also get from point A to point B. That said, she moved the Kasa over under the one window and next to the sofa. And....for the first time ever Ivy climbed in to check it out. Proving once again it can be all about location. MOL
How to scare the mom at 6am:
The transitions from the new floor to the areas that still have carpet haven't been completed yet. Apparently the installation guys are not the carpet transition guys. That appointment has been made.
However, the closet door at the top of the steps was taken off and can't be put back on until that is done. Rather than chasing cats out of the closet all the time, mom took the door and has it leaning against the door frame.
Now, mom can't be CERTAIN if a cat was involved or not (you take your best guess), but Thursday morning there was a HUGE bang from the living room. Mom jumped out of bed, and using every 4 letter word she knows and some she made up, dashed through the condo. Turns out the door had fallen and the bang was it hitting the floor. No damage to the door, the floor or any cats. But it sure got mom's heart racing.....
The flooring guys couldn't put in a transition piece (or pieces)? We don't quite understand that, but hopefully you won't have to wait long to have that done.
ReplyDeleteThat huge bang would have taken a year or two off our biped's life....
they did but they can't stretch the carpet to make the parts meet - we don't understand either but apparently each group can only do "their" thing
DeleteWell, that sure sounds scary. Hope you get that floor done soon. We guess some feline helped that door to fall to the floor. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteWhoa! That was scary! My human would have been freaking out too.
ReplyDeleteThat was quite the wake up call! Glad you kitties are enjoying your new layout.
ReplyDeleteWow, that sounds like a scary wake-up!
ReplyDelete:0! Cats and contractors will do as they please...
ReplyDeleteOh that must have been so scary. We are most grateful that the door did not squash anyone as it fell!
ReplyDeletePurrs,
The Chans
Am sure about 6 months of life was scared outta your mom with that, kitties! Am considering snapping photos of the dining room floor every morning, so the overnight destruction by Da Boyz is captured...thankfully, we don't always hear the noises...
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, what a way to get you out of bed!
ReplyDeleteOur money's on a cat being responsible. I mean ... we're good cats and all ... but you should hear what some of our friends have done. ~Bear Cat
ReplyDeleteWe bet you guys will be glad when this whole flooring thing is over and done!
ReplyDeleteGlad nobody got hurt!
ReplyDeleteOMC. That would have freaked us out, big time, too!
ReplyDeleteAh, the old dropping closet door early in the morning gag. You'd think your mum wouldn't have fallen for that one.
