Random Fridays

We got snow last weekend. Chanel was a little fascinated by that, but what really got her attention was the truck that plowed out the driveways.

It is BITTER cold here. Mom worries most about Allie our feral girl - fortunately we have a nice set up in the garage. Still cold, but out of the wind. Mom has been taking down warm water to fill the bowl twice per day. It still freezes, but at least for a short period of time there is available water. Allie seems to be hanging around and mom has caught her a couple of time in a warm crate with bedding as mom comes into the garage. Allie is just so fearful of people....mom has thought about trying to catch her and bring her inside but fears it would very much back fire.

Just a short post today.....we know it is cold all over. PLEASE check on animals and the elderly. A lot of states are now implementing restrictions on companion animals being outside, so check with your local authorities and report people if they are leaving pets outside.

  1. It's crazy-a$$ed cold here too, and has been for a couple of weeks. Winter sure is blasting us this year. Stay warm! Let's hope there won't be a need for the snow-plow truck too many more times!

  2. Thanks for taking care of Allie. At least she has a safe place to get out of the weather and fresh water. I'm hoping this cold leaves soon.

  3. Community cats suffer more from lack of fresh water than anything else during the winter, so I've read. I too fill up the water bucket outside twice a day, hoping The 'O' Cats will take a minute to drink. At least this cold snap is over in a few days, but stay warm until then!

  4. Well if it makes you feel any better, it is VERY cold here. My outside cats have come inside but are now sitting on the porch in the sun.So hopefully you all can stay warm.

  5. We're glad to hear that Allie is using the shelter you provide her to stay as warm as she can. Winters up your way are no joke!

  6. Thank you for taking care of Allie. To think in just a few months, spring will be popping up. That's what our Mom tells herself when she sees how bitterly cold it is around the country. Stay warm!

  7. I'm so glad you are looking out for Allie - how sad that she's so scared of humans. If only she knew how much better it would be for her if she could be inside.

  8. We're freezing our tails off around here! The Boy (who's from Florida) thinks it's like this all winter. He doesn't believe me that in the past anytime we've had this bitter cold, it only lasts a few days. At least it's too cold to snow!
