couple of quick updates....

Mindy and Matilda: got home to an email from the shelter - there is space, can mom bring them in tonight? Sure - that actually works out cause they got kicked out of the bathroom to make room for Eclipse and they were NOT happy about it. Hopefully they will find their forever homes this weekend. :) We will let you know....

Gin and Moonshine did very well and were bouncing around last night like nothing happened. If only people could recover that quickly from surgery.

Eclipse: mom had talked to the cat caregiver at the shelter and asked about maybe bringing Eclipse to them. She tested negative for FIV/FeLV (YEAH!!!) and is already spayed. As mom put it, she needs frontline and a microchip and she is good to go. She is in the bathroom right now cause she was using some serious bad werds as mom came upstairs. The issue with the shelter is this - they have a large number of cats over the age of 4 and are limiting their intake. The clinic aged her at 4 years old. Don't get us wrong - we don't make the rules, we just have to deal with them. So, the compromise is this - mom will give Eclipse the weekend to calm down and chill a little. And then Tuesday morning she will drop her off at the shelter for an evaluation. If they accept her, great. If not, she comes back here - with the understanding that if a spot opens up, we want it for her. Mom would talk to the rescue lady, but she KNOWS they are up to their eyeballs right now. But, if adoptions speed up at Petco, mom may slip Eclipse up there as well.

(oh, and we have a local lost/found organization that has a website for missing pets. mom checked and there are no missing cats matching Eclipse's description - mom is going to put her up on the found part this weekend)

Either way, everyone is safe, healthy and that is about all we can ask. Well, that and the hots took a hike, so.....THE WINDOWS ARE OPEN!!!!!

  7. Thanks for the updates!

I always laughed when I took one of the cats for spay/neuter when the vet says "no running or jumping'. Ha! Tell the kittens that, lol.

Hoping for a good outcome for Eclipse, she's deserves a forever home!

  9. We hope Eclipse finds a home soon. Too bad the place is full, but the best of luck on Tuesday.

I just want effuryone to know that I am a Petco kitty, too and happy Mom Julie came along when she did, despite the changing of the clocks which she didn't do (hey, you have to change wristwatches, duh!!); the shelter was closed and they said I was at Petco, so she had to make a trip there which she didn't mind, but then Petco's adoption people didn't get there until noon and she was too early and could only see me through the window ::sniff sniff:: Anyway, here I am and happy as I can be!!

    Hugs,
    Tom

  12. Boy, the cats come and go there, don't they? But if they go to good homes, then it's all for the good. But a busy place, nonetheless - as busy as "Eaton's basement", as they used to say, before Eaton's went out of business.

  16. Sounds like a lot of coming and going there. We hope that Eclipse finds a way home one way or another... either to her owners or through the shelter.

We hadn't seen Matilda's eye before. Ashton is one-eyed, also, and she doens't realize she is any different, either. The only way you would know is that she is more cautious about making unfamiliar jumps because she doesn't gauge them well. She would rather climb.

Enjoy the smells of the great outdoors. Hooray for open windows!
