Another move....

Well, there was another flurry of moving around the house. That mom lady can't seem to make up her mind. As you can see, the "condo" was set back up but in the living room this time (as opposed to the dining room). Mom was going to move stuff around in the 2nd bedroom and put it there until she realized Marble would stake out that space and since we eat in there, we were glad mom changed her mind.

Marg asked what happens to Marble now. The rescue has 2 adoption spots at the local Petco. The next adoption that happens will leave a space that Marble will fill.

Eileen asked if she might be confusing the ees with another group. There was a group of black kittens a couple of weeks ago, but that was the group that Louisa (the mom cat) died and the kittens went back. They were from the shelter. Eastwood and Einstein are from the same rescue that took in Silver and Marble.

baby jail  :)

 So, why were they moved??

One of the crazy foster families from the shelter brought back her momma cat and kittens on Saturday. Said that she couldn't handle them. (what's to handle - they are 4 weeks old???)  Mom figured she would get the email since she didn't think there were other families available that would take a mom and kittens (not sure why - moms make it easier). Yesterday she got the email and picked them up. Wendy is the mom and the shelter named the kittens after fast food restaurants - but mom isn't sure which one is which yet.

the three tabby boys

hey - that is one of Louisa's girls... YEAH!!

another boy

Wendy the mom

Wendy and one of the tabby boys went back to the shelter already this morning. Wendy is VERY snotty and the middle tabby boy in that first picture was acting pretty lethargic as well. The rest are doing eating on their own (which is good since Wendy showed no desire to nurse them last night) and were doing their best impression of mexican jumping beans this morning.

  1. Oh, my...Your mom sure has her hands full. What sweeties. Mexican jumping beans, huh? Well, that's a good thing, that they're so energetic.

BTW, the mom had a former co-worker who was fostering for a local shelter. She took two litters with the moms (at different times) and ended up adopting the moms because she knew they'd have a hard time finding a home. Add that to her existing cat family. After that, she took only kittens without moms, because she just knew she wouldn't be able to let any other moms go back to the shelter.

  4. I was thinking the same thing as Cat. It is never dull around your house but what fun to have all those kittens. You are so terrific to take in all those kittens and Moms and take such good care of them.
Hope Marble finds a wonderful home. Can I have the kittens just for day or two??LOL. Hope Silver is getting along with her two new friends. Bet Einstein is a smart dude. Take care.

  6. Some people sign up for things and only want easy. Easy does not happen when you volunteer. If you want easy watch tv

  13. Wow - you've got a houseful! I sure wish people would get the message that spaying and neutering is the best thing for cats. Too often it's kittens having kittens (like Louisa) and as Fuzzy Tales says, the mom's are too often left behind. So unfair and all because someone was too foolish or too cheap to do the right thing.

I'd better stop now...I can feel my blood pressure rising!
