too many balls in the air

 a post from the mom

There have been some changes at the rescue and I've been helping but geez I'm tired. Between work and kittens and paperwork and people texting me, I am developing a twitch.

Celtic kittens are still here until there are surgery openings. Between covid backups and kitten season, it is hard to get spots.

Gordon is doing well and feisty as ever. It helps that he purrs while he chews on me - at least he is cute. He is set up in the living room in a pen with the clear Tespo panels and Chanel is baffled on a regular basis on why she can SEE the baby but she can't TOUCH the baby.

The permanent residents are doing well. Ivy seems more comfortable so hopefully the dental bought us some time with her until she can get back in again.

So other than I need a vacation or I'm going to throw my phone out the window, it's pretty good here. Well it's hot....but it's June. haha

  1. Sounds like there is a double dose of burnout there; the weather, and the rescue.
    Please take care of yourself.

  2. I try not ot hyperventilate when I think of all the pregnant cats and moms with kittens I'm tracking out there for TNR and more. I'm also trying to figure out how I'm going to ensure my income with all the time I need to spend on them, even with assistance from the rescue. Don't you wish cat rescue was a regular paying job?!!

  3. That is so sweet watching him want to play. Thanks for all the hard work you do in rescue it is usually so unrewarded except for the warmth in our hearts when we help those in need. Dad wishes he could still so it so now donates the little he can instead. Purrs of Gratitude from all of us

  4. It's hard to avoid burnout sometimes! I'm glad the kittens are doing well.

  5. Here's hoping that things slow down some and you get a chance to rest, relax, and recharge. Too bad Gordon couldn't share some of that energy with you....what a cutie!

The cats send their purrs that the Celtic kittens can soon be tutored and find their furever homes.
