surpriseMom had been kind of on the lookout for a friend for Annatto. Soda is a nice guy and all, but he isn't quite too....playful shall we say.
Turns out the director of the rescue was fostering this little girl who needs some social skills. She was trapped and then taken to another shelter who said she was too feral and to put her down. Word finally got back to our rescue and the response was "give us the *beep* kitten".
She is very scared and hissy, but she will get over it pretty quickly we suspect. She and Annatto were fine Wednesday night and then mom heard them Thursday morning calling each other names. We suspect the new girl just hasn't quite figured out how to communicate....and it doesn't help she is talking to Annatto who's grasp of "cat" is fuzzy at best.
Mom was reading a book last weekend and one of the main characters rescued a pair of kittens and his niece named them Peanut and Goldfish. That made mom laugh, so our little tuxedo girl shall henceforth be known as Goldfish.
In other news, Soda got out of the foster room on Wednesday night (followed of course by Annatto - thankfully Goldfish stayed in the room). Mom thinks he made have had outside help as the door shoves toward him. Either way, he got out twice and mom wasn't too happy. Both times Daiquiri got fairly bent out of shape, though she restricted herself to hissing. Poor Soda just did his best to stay out of her way. Mom put another barrier in front of the door and as she is typing this, she checked the cameras and everyone is still where they are supposed to be for now.
Oh - you may have noticed this week that we only posted Monday-Wednesday-Friday. We are going to give that a try for a while and see what happens. If something interesting pops up, we may post the other days, but this format allows mom to tell more stories and less seeming to throw something together for the sake of getting something posted.
Look at the whiskers on that sweetie! Goldfish--cute name. :-) We hope she settles in and adjusts quickly.ReplyDelete
We hope the posting 3x per week works for you! It didn't take too long for our biped to burn out with our own long-abandoned blog, and she's not in favour of posting just for the sake of posting, either. There's more to life than blogs and social media! There's attending to all of our needs and wants, of course! :-D

For *beep* sake. A kitten? Pronounced "too feral"? What is wrong with them? Thank you -- to your rescue and to you!!! And she's adorable. Who can resist a tuxie? ;-)ReplyDelete
Right?? Don't get us wrong - she is one ticked off kitten, but she is young and will get over it...Delete
Goldfish is too cute. Hopefully she and Annatto will become good friends. Soda, you need to stay put.ReplyDelete
Goldfish is SO cute! :) Thank goodness for the director, she doesn't take any beep from anyone ;)ReplyDelete
You have been busy this week herding kitties! I hope things work out with Annatto and Goldfish.ReplyDelete
“Too feral and had to be put down”… That means they didn’t want to spend the time helping her adjust. It was more convenient to kill her. She will be fine, once she gets used to people and other cats.ReplyDelete
"too feral and . . ." Oh, we don't even, nope, not going to say it. Thank you so much for taking them in, for everything you do!ReplyDelete
GOLDFISH !!!!!!!! now therz a name thatz awesum epic !! ;) ♥♥ReplyDelete
I'm glad the "feral" kitten ended up in good hands.ReplyDelete
Experts claim cats don't vocalize in the form of meows with other cats - but my experience is different. My cats DO talk to each other with meows. Not a lot - but it happens. These two will figure it out - we have faith.ReplyDelete
What a lil cutie!ReplyDelete
We hope Goldfish and Annatto become friends soon.ReplyDelete
Aww, she’s a cutie!ReplyDelete
We have our paws crossed about Annatto and Goldfish! And about your new Mondays-Wednesdays- Fridays schedule.ReplyDelete
We love the name Goldfish! That's adorable -- and so is she!ReplyDelete
We hope she and Annatto become friends.
To say a kitten is too feral without even trying is so frustrating. Goldfish is in a great place with you to learn a few social skills and grow into a more friendly kitten.ReplyDelete
What a group of cuties! We sure hope Soda settles in and becomes Uncle Tim 2. We bet Annatto and Goldfish become furriends very soon.ReplyDelete
Thanks for sharing the great photos of all these wonderful kittys. Goldfish and Peanut are really cute names. Goldfish is such a sweetheart in the photo. Hope everything goes well with Soda. Have a great day.ReplyDelete
