some sad news


We hate posts like this....

Cilantro passed away on Saturday. He had been fine and then he suddenly wasn't. He cried out about 3pm on Saturday afternoon and mom grabbed him and ran to the adoption center and then off to an emergency vet clinic. He had what appeared to be several seizures along the way. They got an IV in to him and the plan was to leave him with the vet overnight. Mom left and was less than 10 minutes from the clinic when the director of the rescue sent her a text that he had passed away.

Unfortunately, there is really no way to know what happened. It is sad however and mom is heartbroken. This is a group of super sweet kittens and while he was safe and love here, it is sad that he won't have a chance to find his forever family.

    Oh that is so so sad. We are so sorry. Poor little Cilantro. Just glad he knew some great love during his short time.

    I'm so sorry! It's always hard but seems especially so when we don't know what happened. Please try and take comfort in knowing you did the best for him and that he was loved, safe, warm, well fed, and happy in the time he had.

    So sorry.

    We had a bad scare this week with one of our foster kittens suddenly losing weight and not wanting to eat. Vet could find nothing wrong but kept losing weight for a few more days. Thankfully she turned around this weekend and is eating and regaining her weight.

    Oh no! We are so very sorry to hear. We are glad that he had such care and love during his short life--though we know that doesn't make it easier on your heart, does it?

    Oh, no! How tragic! Kittens are so tough but so fragile, too. He was very much loved in his short life, and he will not be forgotten. Sending purrs.

    We were so sad to read this. But you must not say that about Cilantro. For him, his Forever Home was with you, where he was safe and loved.

    I'm so sorry. I know you know there was nothing you could have done, and we rarely ever find out what the cause was, but it's just hard when you're giving yourself to a foster and then they are gone. Sending lots of healing purrs.
