If you are going to be around central Ohio on Sunday, mom and the rescue will be at a Vegan Popup Market from 12-4pm with the beer boys (Wheat won't be going - she is too small to be spayed yet and mom doesn't want to deal with a bazillion people that want the "cute kitten"). Details here

seriously, there is a momma cat and 3 kittens in that picture...
Our goal is to leave the kittens with Fiona as long as we can. However, we have to consider her stress as well. If she gets too stressed being crated and in the house, she can stop caring for the kittens. She has started randomly growling both at mom and just in general. We have to weigh any risk to mom, to us, to her kittens and to Fiona herself in deciding when she is released.~~~~~~~~~

I know I shouldn't, and I probably know better, but I keep hoping Fiona finds a way to not be stressed ... I get she just wants to survive - and that's the heartbreaking part - that she believes not being around humans is the way to do that. Then again, I've often come to the same conclusion, so I understand.

ReplyDeleteWe hope there are lots of adoptions at the vegan market event. Less kittens around your place would make it less stressful on everyone, especially if Fiona needs to go back to a less hands-on environment. It must be really difficult for her.
