A while ago mom reported that Margarita (mom to the fiesta kittens) had been adopted. Come to find out the lady that was approved changed her mind. Mom found out when Margarita got moved to another remote adoption site....ironically the same one where Tostada is residing.
They look VERY alike. These pictures don't do any justice to Margarita, but they both have the same round face and expression. Margarita does have some white on her chin and chest. And they sound alike too. Tostada doesn't talk as much now that she has Reno for a roommate. But it is funny how much they resemble each other in so many ways. They haven't been reunited....and mom doesn't think they will since it is unlikely Margarita would recognize Tostada as her "kid". Margarita was very unhappy at the other store and we are hoping that with a bigger cage and some access to seeing outside that she will relax some. She can go to the adoption center for the rescue but the fear is that she will find a place to hide and not get seen at all.

Don't forget that today is Giving Tuesday....after several days of shopping madness (not by us or mom, but still), we hope that every one will stop and take a few moments today to remember to be thankful and give back to those less fortunate. There are so many great organizations out there helping people and animals that run on shoe string....give local and give what you can. Thanks!

One of the hardest things about animal rescue, is the vagaries of the general public! But, I guess it's better that that adopter backed out BEFORE she brought the kitty home; that seems to be worst. Fortunately, the cats bounce back faster than us humans! Wishing everyone a speedy adoption into their FURREVER homes!
ReplyDeleteOh I am sorry that Margarita was not adopted after all. Tostada and his mom both have blonde eyeliner. VERY gorgeous! I would give anything of people were responsible and spayed or neutered their cats. All this anguish and fear would be over.
ReplyDeleteMom and daughter are both lovely tabbies. If only we could have a heart to heart talk with cats and tell them what they need to do to make someone want to take them home! Adopters are in such a hurry to choose a cat that hopefully will be their companion for many years. It's like speed dating. The shy cats are overlooked too often.

I'm sorry to hear that Margarita's adoption didn't go through as planned. Purrs and prayers that Margarita and Tostada each find the furever home they so much deserve, and soon. They are both beautiful.

Darn it, we were so hoping Margarita had found her furever home. We're sending our purrs that both she and Tostado will be going home soon.

We're purring that both mother and daughter find their furever homes real soon.
ReplyDeleteWe're so sorry it fell through but better than AFTER she had been taken to someone's house.
