We hope you all had a safe weekend. Good news - mom brought home some turkey and she shared a bite with each of us!!
The rescue had an adoption special this weekend. Lots of adoptions (no final numbers yet), and this guy went home too (mom wants to pull his paperwork and hopes he went home with another kitten):
Acorn saw our rescue vet on Wednesday and got the ok to move forward with her surgery and then get her out there to be adopted. If you look close at the first picture of her, the left eye is clouded over. She got an eye infection about a month ago and developed an ulcer. It healed but left a scar on her cornea. She seems to see something from it, though not perfectly. It isn't causing her pain or bothering her, so she is good to go.
Everyone is pretty happy mom is home. Two of the city kittens are friendlier now and mom will continue to work with the other two. Since they are vaccinated, the gate is up in front of the door and Daiquiri has already gone visiting.

Tommy spent Sunday just hanging around.

That Almond is a cat who can find fun anywhere, obviously. he'll certainly entertain his new family. Good for him for finding a home. And I'm glad Acorn isn't in discomfort over her eye, poor thing. Let's hope she meets a family who will see beyond cloudy eyes.
ReplyDeleteAlmond is so funny! My half brother (who is in my blog post today) used to chase his tail in the ring cage while waiting to be judged! He seems to have outgrown it now. Paws crossed that Acorn's spay goes well and she finds a home quickly!
ReplyDeleteWell, of COURSE he's going nuts -- he's an almond!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYours sincerely,
Margaret Thatcher
bwahahaha
DeleteGlad to hear your adoption event was successful; the one I volunteered at this Sunday was so quiet...it's kind of sad, since the four kittens are just adorable. Maybe next week!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Almond!! We hope he has found the most wonderful forever home!
ReplyDeleteYippee for good adoption weekend reports!
ReplyDeleteOh Almond, we are so glad that you found a good home. And Acorn, we hope you find that wonderful home really soon. Glad the eye is doing all right. Daiquiri, does enjoy being a social bug. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteshe scared the heck out of one of them....the screaming should have peeled paint - mom had to go rescue them and shut the door. :)
DeleteHooray for Almond getting a forever home and hooray for the turkey your mom brought home!
ReplyDeletePurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrs, Spike William
that is the fun part of naming kittens after nuts, all the puns you get to make.
ReplyDeleteFleurp has a scarred cornea. She had a bit of an issue with depth perception as she was growing but once she figured it out you would never know she has any vision impairment.
Mo has one too and had the same issue. Acorn is pretty good - though she tends to touch the water in the dish before taking a drink.
DeleteDat's all gweat news. And weez so glad everypawdy's doing good.
ReplyDeleteLuv ya

Paws up for getting some turkey! And for Almond finding a furever home.
ReplyDeleteConcats to Almond, we do hope he has another kitty to play with. We sends our purrs that Acorn will have a successful surgery (shudder) and find her furever home soon too.
