Mandy was trying to climb up on the sofa (mom covers them to TRY to cut down on cat hair on the furniture). She didn't quite make it. :)
Hobbes is our shyer boy. The vet who tested him was calling him Cat Masterson, but mom is sticking with Hobbes. Mom opened the playpen on Saturday. He and Mandy came out.....and mom didn't see him most of the day. He turned up in time for dinner. Sunday he was out and about in the living room. If mom catches him, he is friendly and will purr. He just doesn't seek out attention.....yet.
On the other hand, Mandy couldn't be more friendly. We already told you about her flirtations with the boys here. She loves to play with Hobbes. But she is also all over mom looking for attention as well. She already has a family lined up when she is big enough to be spayed. The family has three little girls - a match made in heaven.
Oh that Mandy is just too cute. Love the picture of her trying to get on the sofa. She looks like a lot of fun about to happen. Glad she has a good home. Take care.
I know what you mean about cat-hair on furniture. I use a vacuum cleaner on the upholstery once a week and was surprised at how well it picks up all the hair. Of course, as soon as someone like Renn lies down on the couch or chair, it's covered again...
How old are the girls in the family adopting Mandy? Are they used to cats? Sorry for being a worry-wart, but I remember when you visited with Bug after she was grown, you said she was somewhat of a biter. It occurred to me that the kids in the family might not have been sensitive to cat signals, such as "I've had enough petting for now" or "I don't want to be picked up now". Do you ever give a short "tutorial" to families with kids, or maybe there is a handout on one of the animal oriented non-profits like the ASPCA that you can give them. Again, sorry for being a worry wart!
Mom does talk to families with smaller kids. Bug's family had older kids and we think in that case it is partly "bratty bottle baby". With Mandy, mom has met the girls and mom....the girls are a little younger but their mom seems to be very hands on. Mom said they will chat when Mandy goes home. Though she suspects that Mandy should probably be more worried about sparkly collars and being carried around. :) (which we suspect she will love) Don't worry about being a worry-wart :)
It does sound like Mandy has a great home lined up! That's wonderful! She reminds me of my friend next door - Fluffy Black Cat. She's very friendly, too! Hobbes will come around! Play bows, Zim
