Mom is so fired - AGAIN!!! She forgot Ivy's birthday yesterday......
"A dog like that" - mom found this article about how we view dogs - and how to change how we look at them. Mom like when the author mentioned she now asks "what personality are you looking for?" since that is the question mom asks most when people come to the shelter to look at cats.
~~~~~~~~~~
Well, Sierra and Sebastian are being adopted together and moving to South Carolina. :) The rescue lady gave the ok to get Sebastian neutered since he is big enough and send them now and let their new mom get Sierra spayed when she is big enough. Not our normal procedure, but we are glad an exception is being made.
~~~~~~~~~~~
And, in an effort to raise awareness (and money) a volunteer at Manchester Dogs' Home in England will be living for 35 days as one of the dogs in the shelter - since that is the average time a dog spends waiting to be adopted. You can read more about it here. We wish him well and hope his efforts bring some much needed funds to the shelter and some VERY much needed awareness. Good luck Sean.
~~~~~~~~~~~
And in other news: Licorice started singing the "I need a mancat" song last night. Oh joy......
Happy (belated) Birthday Princess!!!
ReplyDeleteWe are so happy about Sierra and Sebastian. YAY!
And Licorice, oh Licorice...hee hee.
Yay for the double adoption! Your mom probably needs some ear plugs to block out the "I need a mancat" song.. As I recall from before Star was fixed, it's relentless!
ReplyDeleteYay for Sebastian and Sierra .. and going together ... woohoo!
ReplyDeleteWe sure hope Ivy had a terrific birthday. We stopped by yesterday, but we're glad to wish her a happy day again. :) Happy belated, sweet Ivy!
Happy birthday beautiful Ivy!!!
ReplyDeleteTake care
x
Happy Belated Birthday Ivy, we hopes you had a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteHooray for Sierra and Sebastian, we hopes they will be furry happy in their furever home.
We don'ts know that song...Mom says that's a good thing.
Have a great weekend, efurrybody!
Sasha, Sami, & Saku
Happy late birthday, Ivy! I'm so glad Sierra and Sebastian are being adopted together. I hope the adopter remembers to get her spayed - my human knows a guy who adopted a boy kitten and promised to get him fixed and then never did, shipping him out to his parents' farm when he moved away, where he probably beat up other cats and fathered numerous kittens. :-(
ReplyDeleteUgh re Licorice. That is not a fun song, not even for punk rock lovers like my human!
Your Mom...what are you gonna DO about her?
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Ivy!!!
Sweet Pea sang that song when she came in, and Rupert tried his best to "silence" her but it was too late, if you get our drift!
Happy birthday, Ivy!
ReplyDeleteSounds like great adoption news!
Play bows,
Zim
Great news about Sierra and Sebastian!
ReplyDeleteWe know all about forgotten birthdays. #1 almost forgot mine today...
Purrs,
Tama-Chan
Belated happy birthday, Ivy! We hope you got extra treats for your human's thoughtlessness.
ReplyDeleteHurrah for Sierra and Sebastian, that's terrific news!
And a sarcastic yay for Licorice. LOL.
Happy Belated Birthday to you Ivy!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to you, Ivy! We'll pretend it's yesterday and pawty with you, even though your Mom was late telling us.
ReplyDeleteSweet Ivy, Happy Birfday darling girl and as for that sng, once upon a time mommy heard the Admiral sing it and she was whisked off to the v-e-t.
ReplyDeleteYAY for Sierra and Sebastien - excellent news!!
ReplyDeleteWe're so glad Sierra and Sebastian have a home together! Regarding Sparkle's comment, is there any follow up to find out if Sierra gets spayed? Our Humane Society here will actually follow up to make sure cats get spayed or neutered.
ReplyDeleteOh...and Happy Birthday, Ivy!!
Happy belated birfday Princess! We hope you got extra treats and attention for the oversight...
ReplyDeleteHAPPY HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY and YES your Mom DOES need to be fired! MOL!
ReplyDeletexoxo
Happy Birthday Ivy!
ReplyDeleteWhen I would go in to be there for the adoption of my fosters, that would be the question I would ask too.. what do you want in a kitty.. do you want cuddle to the point of suffocation or do you prefer a sit by your side kitty :)
We're not trying to make excuses for her, 'cause COD knows we wouldn't make them for our mom, but so much is happening with all you kitties that we're not surprised your mom is forgetting things. So, from all us to Ivy, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TO BEAUTIFUL MISS IVY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU. Hope your mom sees the error of her ways and heaps loads of noms and toys on Ivy. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
ReplyDeleteFirst, we agree - that's the BEST question any potential adopter should be asked. (Our mommy does it too)
ReplyDeleteAlso, what that guy in Manchester is doing is WAY cool - interesting that he chose a *dog* kennel at a shelter to raise awareness. Would it possibly be because cat stays are a bit longer, we wonder...?
