Please join Just One Day as so many groups take one more step toward adoption and away from killing animals simply due to overpopulation. Don't get us wrong, we know there is a long way to go to get to a no-kill nation. But....if we can do it for THIS one day - and then another one day.....we can get there.
Check out there website to check out rescues in your area (you can search by state). Then please do what you can to support them - not just today but every day. We saw this morning on facebook that they have over 1200 shelters/rescues that took the pledge!!
Our rescue Colony Cats is on the list. New Beginnings Animal Shelter is as well. Sadly, those are the only two groups in our immediate area that took the pledge. We wish we could say there were more groups, but we are VERY proud of these two for standing up.

Triscuit, Busch and Killian are up at the Petco store. Technically all the boys are ready to go, but mom doesn't like kittens being alone, so she kept Miller to keep Stella company. Though the way those two were wrestling the other night, we suspect Stella may have been perfectly happy to have had Miller stay at the store too. MOL
Oh darn,we forgot about Just one more day. We sure hope it works in a lot of places. I think there is only one shelter around us doing it.
ReplyDeleteThose kittens are just too cute. And look at that Triscuit. I cannot believe she hasn't found a home. Take care.
We hope your "Just one Day" will make people consider that having a no-kill country is the way forward. Triscuit is just the cutest kitten.
ReplyDeleteLuv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
Is that Triscuit at the bottom? Her tag looks to weigh more than she does! What a cutie. You should print out pictures like that and post them next to the cages when the cats go on their next adoption-outing.
ReplyDeleteI don't see how Triscuit won't be adopted looking like that....
ReplyDeleteWe sure hope that Just One Day becomes the norm every single day.
ReplyDeleteJust One Day is such a great initiative. Kudos to the shelters participating!
ReplyDeletePink really suits Triscuit. We can't believe that cutie isn't adopted yet.
oh goodness gracious.. Triscuit STILL doesn't have a home.. what is that girl waiting for anyway? royalty??
ReplyDeleteWhat a great incentive Just One Day has become! Kudos to your group for taking part!
ReplyDeleteTriscuit has to be the sweetest kitten ever with that pink collar and innocent face! Her forever family has to be just around the corner!
the critters in the cottage xo
Triscuit is just so adorable - I know she will get adopted soon!
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine Triscuit languishing there for long. I hope they *all* find wonderful, loving, true forever homes.

ReplyDeleteSorry Triscuit hasn't found a home. She's insanely cute!

What a great idea! Two shelters is better than no shelters. Maybe next year it will be four, and so on and so on.
ReplyDeleteFingers and paws crossed that adoptions happen fast for the kitties!
Triscuit, mommy sez you look SQUEE-ably adorable!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the One More Day. I don't believe there is anything like that here in Canada. The mindset of people must change, until cats are no longer disposable, unfortunately there will be far too many unwanted litters.
ReplyDeleteThose kittens are so adorable. The photo of Triscuit is especially gorgeous. What a lovely girl!
Triscuit is looking especially precious. We sure hope she gets an extra special forever home really soon. Purrs and hugs from the kitties at The Cat on My Head, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Josette
ReplyDeleteWe purr that one day it won't be just one day...but every day!
ReplyDeleteWe join paws in hopes that one day we WILL be a no-kill nation. Albuquerque has a 90% success rate in its first year of our TNR program...we are 2 years ahead of schedule. This is such great news and yet there are many critics complaining that the ferals should be euthanized instead of released because they kill local birds and lizrds!
ReplyDeleteWe agree!
ReplyDeleteI think this is a wonderful idea. I think that it is important that we get the word out and spread the word and that we not forget about days like this. The kitty in your second picture is so adorable.
