Thankful Thursday....

Once again, mom is happy the v-e-t comes to the house....and has a sense of humor. :)

Mozart, Spud and JUNIOR were up this time. And of course Maestro got his 6 months "still going" check up.

Mom swears we misbehave on purpose. We don't - we promise. But seriously - the lady v-e-t comes with pointy things. (everyone but Maestro) was vaccinated. Spud went first and wasn't happy but it wasn't so bad - except for running over Frito as he made his escape. Junior was next - and what an adventure. Yikes.....  he struggled and when he was released from the bathroom he ran out and scared Mo. Maestro was next....both the vet and the tech said it was a nice change to have someone just kinda stand there.  :)  And then Mo. ugh.....  Dr T suggested next time that maybe it might help is mom holds Mo. But everyone is good weight (a little lighter which isn't so bad). Spud and Junior do have ear mites and a minor yeast problem (great - cause there is nothing better than medicating flighty cats).

The snack kittens go in the morning for their spay/neuter appointments. Mom has just about everything crossed that they all make weight. Frito and Dorito will go home that evening if they do.

Added notes from the mom: our vet charges a one time "travel" fee.....but it ends up being really no more than any other vet visit. And worth it to avoid stuffing cats in carriers.  As to running around to catch everyone, I know when they expect to arrive, so I start shutting cats in rooms well before that happens. In this case, mom and kittens went in my room, Spud was in the bathroom and Junior was in the second bedroom (the cat room) with the door closed. So when Spud was done, we just had a closed room to find Junior (he hid in a bookcase). Mo is easy to catch....just a pain to vaccinate.

  1. Well that sounds like a lot of fun having wild cats running from the vet. Too funny.
Yay, a view of Triscuit. Hope the kitties all pass their weight test.
    Take care.

  2. Ditto on the "yay" for a peek at Triscuit. :-)

Okay, that does NOT sound like a fun evening for anyone, feline or human. LOL.

  3. I do not normally care for fuzzy Doritos. But in this case, I will make a snacking exception. He looks yummy!

  5. Our humans are so pleased that our VET also comes to the house. Of course, you may have read how naughty we were the last time. Lisbeth managed to pry the door open, and we all escaped from the kitchen. Astrid and Fiona were impossible to round-up again. The humans were glad Dr. Neel has a sense of humor. Hope all goes well for the snack pack. Purrs and hugs from the kitties at The Cat on My Head, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Josette

  11. How nice that your v-e-t comes to the house! We laughed at the description of how the visit went. And Tim's photobombing skills are awesome. :)

  14. The kitties might not like the vet, but we bets they wouldn`t like the cat carrier more. `Cuz we sure don`t. :(

Good lucks to the fast food kitties!

  15. I have yet to find a vet that will come to my house for a simple house call. My vet came for Em's end of days, and charged me $90 for a house call (on top of the other charges) oh the downside of living in a rural state

  16. Hi Jeanne, I just wanted to pop by and thank you for visiting with birthday wishes for Casper and Kip :-)

It would be so much easier to have a vet to come to our house and see the boys, but I love Dr. D. so much I could never leave him - LOL!!!

  18. Better than stuffing everyone into carriers, yes! A easy-time kitty party, not so much. Glad it went relatively smoothly and there were no HUGE problems.
