Black Cat Appreciation Day

cause you can never have too much of that....

We know we are preaching to the choir, but ALL black animals in shelters seem to be overlooked. Be it superstition, don't show well or whatever, black cats seem to be the last adopted and the first euthanized. Mom doesn't have the numbers in front of her, but she doesn't think that we have had any more black foster kittens than we have had any other kittens.

  1. There are no black panthers in our home but we think they look very sleek and gorgeous!

  2. The only reason we don't have any black kitties right now is circumstantial - my human's parents always seemed to have at least one. And the kitty who is currently living with her dad in assisted living is a fluffy black panther who is really awesome!

  4. We love black kitties! Our next door neighbor, Fluffy Black Cat, is black and she's our friend. More or less. She and Zimmie were very good friends!

  6. Mommy says she hopes a panfur shows up at the door some day...that's how we get kitties around here.

  7. My Shady girl was black with the teeniest bit of white on her chest, does that count? I don't believe there was a sweeter cat, she was a purring machine, loved to play with her toys, and her brother. The only cat who didn't like her was my Silver, but unfortunately Silver didn't like anyone but Sasha.
It broke my heart when she crossed the bridge at 8 years due to an aggressive cancer. She purred right up to the end.

  8. What a group of adorable panfurs. We are big fans of black kitties at our house. Mom's dream is to have a black cat sanctuary. XO, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
