tabby Tuesday.....

Mom bought ANOTHER new bed for our condos - so all the bottom rooms have bed in them. Mom says she hasn't seen anyone using the top bunks, but she may invest in bed for those anyhow.

Here is what is interesting - Junior LOVES the condo and the new beds. OK - that isn't interesting. But what is interesting is that he sleeps facing the wall. Mom is baffled. She thinks that with as jumpy as that boy is most of the time, he would sleep facing into the room so he has an escape route and can see what is going on around him. Nope - most of the time he is butt out and facing the wall.....

  6. Junior, I TOTALLY understand! If you can't see anyone, they can't see you! So if you face the wall... yeah. I totally get it! As a guy who likes his own space myself, I totally get where you're coming from!

  7. Maybe there isn't room to stretch his legs out on the wall side. Who knows how cats think.
Are you still going to the shelter?? I hope so.
    Have a Happy Tuesday.

  10. There was an urban legend, no idea if it's true, about Japanese sleeping tubes. Seems they would work until exhaustion, and instead of going home, they would sleep at work in these special sleeping tubes, then get up and work some more. Seeing that kitty in that tube makes me think of that, lol. He must work very hard, exhaust himself that much that he doesnt care which end he faces!
    Adorable and funny!

  12. We think it depends on whether there is room to get out near the wall. If so, then that is a better escape path then out the front where ya are bein attacked from...

  13. I totally get why Junior likes to sleep facing the wall - that way he can get some peace! If he were facing outwards, he'd always have one eye open and be on the lookout.

  14. The cat condos are starting to look pretty deluxe, no wonder Junior likes them! Quinn, too faces away from what is going on when he sleeps or feels threatened. We have wondered about his strategy.

I am sorry to read about the silliness at the shelter. It amazes me how much politics goes on in rescue when the focus ought to be who does the best job getting the animals to safe nurturing well matched homes. Please don't give up, the kitties need you.
