(see what we did there?? MOL)
When mom moved in to the condo, there was carpet. She hated it and it was abused by us and the fosters. Finally she gave up and found a good deal and decided to make a change.
She spoke to a friend and decided to get laminate vinyl tile that looks like wood. It is GREAT with pets per all the reviews.
Starting over a week ago, she moved books and other stuff and left the living room and foster room with just the basic furniture.
Now - the install was a whole other story, but now that the floors are in, mom is liking them a lot.
This was our opinion of the whole process.
The living room and foster room along with the stair landing have these. Most of us are FREAKED out but Chanel seems to be having a blast running around and skidding.

I always had carpets until I moved into my own house. Now it's nearly all laminate floor and I love seeing the cats skidding about on it while they play. It's also super easy to clean.
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! My townhouse was carpeted wall to wall both upstairs and down when I bought it, but in the years that have passed I've had the lower flooring replaced twice, both with laminate, and the upper hall too. However, I have area rugs everywhere, both for warmth and for noise absorption. You can hear a pin drop between units, they're so poorly constructed. I think that next time I might go with vinyl plank flooring, actually, because vinyl has come a long, long way and looks terrific...plus there are waterproof (or at least water resistant) options. Anyway, I hope you're happy with the floor for years to come!
ReplyDeleteThat looks terrific. So much easier to take care of. Have a super nice day.
ReplyDeleteThe floors look pawsome, but we thinks mom bean should put down a rug for you kitties. It's hard to get traction to hork up hairballs without carpet! MOL
ReplyDeleteWhen we moved into our house, we pulled up every scrap of carpeting, had the hardwood floors redone, and just have a very few throw rugs. Carpeting captures dust and dander; it's really not healthy in my book! Glad your new floor installation is finished!
ReplyDeleteVery nice-looking floors, very smooth and neat. I'm sure the cats will become accustomed to them very soon.
ReplyDeletethe floor looks great! We have Pergo in our living/dining room (is that what yours is too?) Ours is laminate also and it is just fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThe floors look really nice! My human is considering doing that with the separate upstairs area, where the foster, Smokey, is currently living.
ReplyDeleteThe floors look great!! We would love that in our apartment.
