It was that time of year for Ivy.....
unsuspecting

Mom tries to make sure we get our annual check ups and vaccines. Ivy was due and mom had Monday off, so the appointment was set. Now, Ivy hates to travel and everything, so mom spent the morning being all nonchalant until WHAM - she grabbed Ivy, stuffed her in the carrier and off they went.

Ivy of course sang the song of her people all the way there....mom says Ivy must have been an opera singer in a past life.

She weighed in at 12 pounds 13 ounces (oh my) and got checked over. Dr B says her teeth look good and she is healthy. No comment on the weight.....maybe she got distracted by the growling and the pooping (Ivy poops when she is stressed).

All in all, not bad, good review and it is all over until next year.

(we used to used a mobile vet but with using this clinic for the fosters, mom did some thinking and decided to switch us all over there....she loves the mobile vet but says with us getting older she prefers hauling us off to a clinic that has some equipment on site).

  1. Yikes! It's NEVER fun to go to the evil v-e-t, Ivy. But we're glad all checked out just fine! (And we won't tell you what WE weigh...other than to say it's more than you. LOL.)

  2. We only get to be weighed if we go to the vet so we usually get weighed once a year - paws crossed!!!!!

  4. Sounds like your momma has the 'snatch-and-stuff' down to a science! Chuck and Angel used to go into their carriers without a problem, until recently when they've both gotten upset. But the hubby now just does a quick snatch-and-stuff, and I head out the door with a mad cat! Glad Ivy is okay!

  5. That's a great stress response! Bet it's effective too! Always nice to get a clean bill of health!

I like the idea of a mobile vet to reduce stress but I also like getting thorough diagnostics done at the time of service. We blessed with a vet in our backyard, so no car ride!

  6. I'm glad the vet said you're looking good, Ivy! And doubly glad she forgot to say something about the weigh in!

  8. Ooo no fun going to the vets! Leo went this morning and while he's not much of a singer, he did a few verses too. (he's fine, but has dirty dirty ears!)

  11. Our vet never said anything about Ashton's weight when she was obviously overweight. It seems like some vets just don't focus on that, which si a shame, considering what a big difference it can make for a cat's health.
