Remember Me Thursday

Sadly, we are not yet a no-kill nation. Animals die everyday in shelters....people don't spay and neuter, they buy rather than adopt, they have negative connotations regarding shelter animals....more reasons than we care to count. We know we are preaching to the choir here, but if we can impress on even one person that 3-4 million adoptable animals are killed every year just for lack of homes, then this makes a difference.

Remember Me Thursday is an event to put into the forefront of minds that this occurs every day around the world. Click on the link to light a candle on their website.

We talk about this all the time - adopt....foster....volunteer....spay/neuter....donate

Hopefully one day we won't need events like this, but until then we are joining in to remember those that don't have the chance to get a home of their own.

Help us spread the word.....  use the hashtag #LightForPets today on facebook and twitter to share

  1. It is very sad that many countries including the USA is still killing healthy cats. We are from the UK and cats here are never killed unless they are sick and/or in pain. Here cats (and dogs) at shelters are always neutered before going to their forever homes and we wonder why you don't do the same.

  2. it is so very heart breaking, but we have improved tremendously in the past ten to twenty years. we used to kill more than double what we are killing today. Hopefully in 10-20 years you and I will be out of business

  3. As you said on my blog and I soooo agree, I pray that one day we won't have to be doing this any longer! Much love from Cody and Caren

  4. We are lighting candles...

    Noodle and crew

  5. A no-kill nation would be a dream come true. Lighting our candle for those who aren't as fortunate as us.

  6. We lit a candle and are purring that a no-kill nation isn't far away. We all deserve to live in a kinder place like that.

  7. We hold out hope that someday that number is reduced to the point of being miniscule...and we lit a candle, and we thank YOU for all you do to help fight against those numbers!!

We love to hear from you.....
