shhh...babies sleeping

Mom is a little concerned about Swizzle. She is just so skinny. It could be another couple of weeks until the kittens are eating on their own....but they are getting bigger and are more active. Swizzle just doesn't seem that interested in eating anything.....sometimes she will eat everything in the bowl and other times she will eat a little. Mom has given her some options and she seems to pick and choose depending on the day. :)

Oh - and someone made a comment yesterday about jumping from the balcony - we live on the second floor. Our condo is a "carriage house"....we live above all the garages. Mom would prefer we not even hang over the edge of the balcony to look down. Though it could be worse - our neighbor across the way has 3 cats and Carter likes to walk on the railing to the balcony....he gets yelled at a LOT!!

There is one in every crowd trying to be different. (that is Martini going the wrong way)

We have no idea how Mimosa can sleep like that - but mom said she was out cold.

How many kittens do you see??

Yep - those boys are going to be trouble....already trying to escape.

  1. That's our mom's kitten fix for the day. :-)

We had made a comment about jumping down, because Nicki is the escape artist. The mom seriously doubts being on the second floor would deter him, he'd jump or find another way down regardless. LOL.

  2. Can Swizzle go tot he Vet? Me and mom are concerned for her too. She has to eat (of course..duh, Admiral..who turned on YOUR light??!) to make milk...and to have energy for the babies.

  3. I would be a little worried about Swizzle too. Maybe a little visit to the vet just to make sure. Those kittens are so darn cute. They are really getting the stage now where they are going to get cuter every day. Keep the pictures coming.

  4. GAH I could look at kittens all day!!! They are just too cute for words :-) I agree with the others, maybe Swizzle needs a little trip to the vet just to make sure everything is ok!

  7. Would Swizzle eat kitten food or a supplement? She is prolly just plain worn out feeding the tots.

  9. Swizzle dear, you must eat. I know you're tired from taking care of your babies. And what adorable babies they are!!

One of our new mamas (why do they always give birth the night before being spayed - although had no idea she was pregnant, let alone that far term), Skittle is not eating much either. Her babies are a week old today and she kind of just wants to get away from them somtimes so we've moved her to another foster hom where she has more room.

  13. Those babies are adorable but I bet are exhausting for Swizzle. We hope momma regains her appetite; but we trust you know how best to tease a kitty into eating or know when to do more. Sending White Dog positive energy that all stay healthy and continue to gain strength and vigor.

  14. Perhaps a small dose of baby food will help. That's been an appetite-inducer for my cats in the past.
