The mobile v-e-t came to visit today. Tim hasn't been acting right for a few days - yowling, won't let mom look in his mouth, hissing at the kittens.....
Mom held him tight, the tech held the light and Dr T tried to look in. He yowled at everyone but didn't put up much of a fight, which is good.
Dr T couldn't see a whole lot without making him really uncomfortable but she noticed a really red spot that doesn't look good on his right back side of his teeth - back where he had a molar pulled a month ago.
Dr. T gave mom some pain meds and anty-biotics for him (course mom now has to get him to take pills)......we hope he will be feeling better soon. Mom is feeding him with the kittens so he is getting canned food for the moment.

Oh no Tim. When Orange Boyzo had all his teeth pulled, he wouldn't eat and I took him back to the vets and he had a red swollen looking place on one of the places where a tooth was pulled. They gave him the antibiotic shot so I didn't have to do the pills. Then he finally started eating. Hope the antitbiotics work for Tim. Sending lots of purrs.

ReplyDeleteBuddy had a similar situation, only they found a tiny part of the tooth root that had been extracted was still in place causing problems. After it was removed all was well! I hope Tim finds healing soon!! Tooth pain is no fun!
ReplyDeleteWe know those antibiotics will help. The hard part is giving them. Some pharmacies can make special tuna flavored 'treats' with the medicine.

Poor tim - feel better buddy - sending you good thoughts....
ReplyDeleteI've had alot of success at the cat shelter mixing the antibiotic in a syringe and administering it that way, rather than pilling.
ReplyDeleteYou don't want to dry pill anyway, as it could become lodged in the cat's esophagus. So you'd end up syringing some water anyway after pilling....
I'm sorry I missed this. Paws crossed he is feeling better!
