BTW - mom got "updated" to the new blogger interface and isn't very sure she likes it. maybe with time, but right now it just looks weird.....

It, the new update surprised me yesterday. They forced it on me and mommy turned it back to the old. But that won't be permitted sometime soon this month and we'll all be stuck with the "new" one. I wish they would stop forcing these things on us. Mom already has it for her human blog here in Blogger. The thing she hates is the dashboard is impossible to find unless and until you are logging in.
ReplyDeleteThere MUST be another way to find the dashboard in the new interface but in over a year of blogging with the "new" interface, she has yet to find the other way after all her helpless/hopeless clicking here and there. Major pain and frankly she can't see any advantage to the "new" interface. Just less intuitive. Of course it would kill them to provide a simple list of instructions of where things are.
Sorry, mommy and I wrote a blog there. :-(

The new one is not so bad... I was switching back to the old to write my posts and whatnot but a couple of weeks ago I decided to give the new one another chance and do you know what? I like it! It will grow on you and actually, in some ways, it's a lot easier. Just got to get the hang of it, I think.

ReplyDeleteSame thing happened to me this week. I have preposted some postings because I didn't want to be "stuck", learning how to use the new interface. It isn't that difficult, but it would be nice if they would give instructions before they roll these things out. I think that is mainly what is irritating. NOT knowing which controls to use and how to use them. So you fiddle with it and figure it out...at least enough to make it work. I can see that there are some improvements, but hate to do too much because I can see messing things up and not being able to blog at all!

I'm with all of you, this interface isn't very user friendly. I cannot figure out how to resize photos for one thing, and the formatting often looks odd when I finish a post.
ReplyDeleteOn another note, love the photos of Marble and the hidden Silver. They make me want to get another kitty (well almost!)
When our Mommy went online yesterday, Picnik was gone and our bloggy was loony .......maybe we should have a cats against bloggy day!

I've been using the new Blogger for awhile now & it's not too hard to figure out. It just takes a little adjustment period, and there are actually some things that are better and are easier.

ReplyDelete...we updated about a month ago and it was really painful for a couple of days. But now we actually like it much better. *I* like that my photos of ME are bigger than ever! ; )

ReplyDeleteWe tried out the new interface last Fall an dint like it so we switched back fer a week. But then TBT said we OUGHT to give it another try (cuz he knew it would be forced eventually). So we forced ourselfs.
ReplyDeleteIt took another week, but we actally cant even remember what parts we dint like cuz now we are used ta it.
We like the calendar that shows up when scheduling a post. And ta get back ta the dashboard while viewing yer blog, click *design* in the upper right. That shows all the dashboard commands. Or then click *View Blogs* to really see the original log-in view.
But we were purrfectly happy with the old interface...
