Random Fridays.....

Did you see the post from Miss Chrystal about transporting kitties to California????  Can you or someone you know and trust help out???  These kitties are being offered a wonderful loving home - and getting them there opens up space in the cat house. Word is now they may be able to get from Illinois to Oklahoma City.....  what about from there???

It has been cold and overcast and generally yucky here for a while.  Yesterday we had some sun - and one spot coming in the window. Three guesses who was the first to find it?
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Some of you may remember Maxine. She is (unfortunately) still at Petco waiting for her forever home. Part of it is that whenever someone comes up to the cage, she hides under the shelf. sigh....
Anyhow, last week our friend Miss Beckie asked if we would be willing to take a kitten who is snotty and then can go up to the Petco store.
Meet Maxwell - yep, Maxine's sister:
She is sweet, but just about as jumpy as her sister. ergh....
~~~~~~~~~~

Well, the time has come. Emma will be heading up to Petco this weekend. Mom has her monthly adoption event on Sunday but wants to get Emma up there maybe even this afternoon.

Last fall mom discovered that Bourbon and Moonshine had grown some double fangs. She was playing with Emma last night and discovered Emma has double upper fangs right now too. Normally our foster kittens leave early so we don't have them up to this age (Emma is about 5 months old). But apparently it is pretty common for the adult fangs to come in before the baby fangs fall out. No pictures - Emma won't cooperate. But she is chewing on EVERYTHING!!! Mom's toes, the laptop, the tv remote, toys, Mo's tail.....

Random Fridays

Did you see the post yesterday by Miss Chrystal????  Woohooo - more adoptions!!!  Frosting and Hershey have to get to CALIFORNIA!!!!  We have done it before and mom promised we will help make this one happen as well. If you live ANYWHERE between Illinois and Ohio and are planning a trip to LA (or close) and willing to help transport these kitties to their forever home, PLEASE let us or Miss Chrystal know.

The cats rescued from the house fire have been placed in other foster homes. We haven't heard anything else about the foster and her family....other than they are safe.

This from our friend Miss Beckie:
As the foster parent of two of the house fire cats I would like to thank everyone for the kind words and offers of support. My furry ones are now available for a home of their own. Berry is a black and white girl about a year old. She is very sweet and cuddly. Kooper is an orange guy about the same age. Both are living at the Petco at Kingsdale in Upper Arlington. Stop by and say hello to them.

Also:
First, THANK YOU to everyone who has offered to foster and who is fostering to help with this tragic event. And a big thank you to the Norton Road Veterinary Hospital and Rascal Animal Hospital for helping with the veterinary needs of these kitties!

These kitties are in very temporary foster homes and need to find their FOREVER homes! So we are having an adoption event with the foster home fire kitties THIS WEEKEND, from 12-5pm at the Petsmart on Rome-Hilliard. Adoption fees will be $35 for one cat, and $50 for two. There are also 2 of the kitties at the Petco at Kingsdale - Berry and Kooper (and big thank you to Petco for promoting and caring for them until homes are found!).

We gotted an award from Basil
Fanks.....we love you too!!!

Notes from Emma's Wednesday post:

@Fuzzy Tales: Emma is full of...... something - haha
@Priscilla: thanks - we like the new look. Mom wanted to try something and got bored at work the other day.
@Belle: nope, K is in for the long haul. Heck, we think she might have been charmed by the bratty behavior.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
About Styx, Atlas and Hera: they were never at our house. Mom moved them from the adoption center straight to the store. But since mom will be doing their adoptions, we feel like they are extended family kitts. :)  No word on what is up with Atlas but Miss Mona says he is eating ok, so that is good news.
Random Fridays.....
Mom tested NEGATIVE!!!
If you guys follow Miss Chrystal, you have already met the family above (and if you haven't, for pete's sake head over there  asap).  Mom has said she will foster the family and get them into rescue here....but we gotta GET them here....  SO - do you (or someone you know) live in Indiana or Illinois (near route 70) and want to spend a few hours with the cute??? Email us or Miss Chrystal.....
Oh, and like Miss Chrystal didn't have enough going on, she live trapped some kittens that her Older Daughter had seen. Caught one.....then another.....then finally the third - only this little boy has some injuries and a broken leg and needed surgery. There is a chip-in set up to help pay for his medical needs.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Duke and Luke update: mom thinks she knows EXACTLY what the neighbor-chick was thinking bringing the kittens home...cause she looked a little surprised when mom said to take them back inside and find a better alternative. (and NO that alternative is NOT US!!!) One more person who wants a pat on the back for "rescuing" without having a clue what they are doing - and expecting the rest of us to pick up the slack.

'Nuff said....  (and Connie - thanks for the pillow - the head banging is much more comfortable that way). The boys are doing much better.....they are purring when they see mom (the bringer of kibble) and letting her pet them. She was mumbling something about seeing if we can socialize them more this weekend. uh oh....

Thanks for the great comments from yesterday as well. They made mom smile. But the one from Frankie and Ernie made mom laugh out loud in the office:
I think this might be one of those...
What Goes Around (the neighborhood) Comes Around..(to the Bathroom). hehe

Oh - and mom also says that if they had been found in OUR neighborhood, she would start to wonder if they missed a big orange tabby boy in the great TNR round up.....cause that one boy kinda looks like someone who lives here:
(this is Junior - NOT one of the new guys)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After 5 days, Bourbon MAY finally be getting tired....but he loves that stringie.
He and Gin were dragging it up and down the hall last night.
Somehow that doesn't look comfortable.....yet mom finds them in there often.
Gin is the one with her feet up in the air, Bourbon is smooshed into the side.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tim seems to have developed a small growth.

It only shows up when he lays down:

bwaaahahahaha
(yep, those small fuzzy bourbon appearing growths can be hazardous)

Have a great weekend. Mom is transporting some slobbery bloodhounds. And then...football
GO MSU SPARTANS!!!!

Adoption updates.....

It is always an adventure around here.....today, once again, mom is starting on another adventure with Miss Chrystal. Check out Daily dose of dogs for the newest one....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We know you love hearing about our adoptions, and thought we would share some updates.
From Whiskey's new mom and dad:
"I thought you would like an update on Whiskey. First of all, thank you for doing such a great job socializing him! He is without a doubt just the sweetest kitten ever! We are amazed at his non-stop purr. He loves to be held and falls asleep in anyone’s lap. He is so busy! We love playing with him and watching him . He is not afraid of anything, even our older cat who so far keeps hissing at him. He just looks at her as if to say “so what’s wrong with you???”. (We think Callie will eventually get tired of the hissing-bit. She is very curious about the kitten and watches everything he does.) Well, just thought you would like to know your kitten is doing fine and we really love him. And I hope you don’t mind, but we changed his name to Marley. It was a big debate between Marley and Moki, but Marley won."
      Concats Whiskey/Marley - you got a great new family. :)
Doc update:
"Hi,    We will have to send you some pictures.  He is a awesome addition to our family.  A little on the rotten side but he is my sons best friend.   No concerns at all.    Actually him being Deaf helped, he doesn't seem scared of anything.   We did have a little issue where he jumped on top of my daughters dresser and drug away one of her feather ear rings but it turned up under our bed a little soggy.  :)"
             Concats Doc - keep 'em on their toes!!!
Finally Friday....
About yesterday - yeah, mom almost had a heart attack. She ran around was freakin' out. Once the boys were safe inside she kinda bent over and took a moment. None of us can imagine what those boys were thinking....and we are glad they got caughted and are safe (and surgery went well too - they will be available for adoption this weekend).
Mom isn't getting a break this weekend. But, it isn't quite like last year when she drove all night to get some of Miss Chrystal's boy to O-hi-O so they could get to Calliforny (you can read about it here).  Oh - and she is doing a push for her book. If you haven't read it yet, it ROCKS!!! And if you know someone "famous" who can get the word out - let her know....the money all goes to the kitties (ok and the woofies) she is trying to save....
  you can buy it from the publisher here
     **We just realized mom wrote that previous paragraph badly! Mom didn't write a book - Miss Chrystal from Daily Dose of Dogs has. Mom bought it and read it and it was GREAT!!! Darned mom - can't leave her unsupervised for a second. :)
Let's see - Saturday is the Picnic With The Pups at the shelter where she volunteers. There is lots of fun stuff for everyone and all the adoptable animals are specially priced. Lots of adoptions happened last year and we have our paws crossed for lots this year too. If you live close by and want to bring your woofie, feel free. We stay home - too much commotion. But mom will be there....
And then Sunday mom is at Petco for their monthly adoption event. Not sure which foster monsters will be attending, but we are sure someone is going (though not staying - no one is spayed or neutered yet).
And then she is off to have brunch with some friends. See, Miss DeLynn's hubby took a job with Best Friends in Utah. He moved out in May to start working. Miss DeLynn is joining him at the end of July (and mom is helping her drive out and then volunteering a couple of days too). So this group of friends is getting together to wish Miss DeLynn safe journey.
