Balashi is going for the cute award...and OMG is his fur soft
the tiny mighty Peroni
poor Marzen....he always looks so concerned
(also, he was neutered yesterday, so he is ready to go)
Guinness wants mom to STOP with the pictures
OMG - there are BIRDS outside the window!!!
Goldfish on top, Chanel in the middle, Junior on the table
tails - best cat toy ever
Peroni is playing with Guinness' tail while Sapporo is playing with hers
the picture must also be a weird angle cause Sapporo is MUCH bigger than Peroni
OK - so mom thought she fixed the Nest camera. Only....not so much. She thinks maybe it is a link thingie....but she has tried erasing the code and replacing it and that doesn't work either. Surprise, surprise, mom is in over her head. Sorry about that.....
So this is her new "trick". She goes up to the top of the cat ladder and hangs off the top shelf.
She also likes to chew on her BACK toes.
Mom has to admit, seeing Chanel bang off the ladder and then hang off of it makes her SUPER nervous. Our cat ladder (and we would love to give you a link so you could get your own, but after a lot of research, we can't find it online) is about 8 inches from our front windows. Which means not only would she fall over 6 feet to the floor, she could bang off the window and window sill if she falls off the back. Fortunately Chanel seems to grab the shelves and save herself more often than not, but she has fallen and it makes mom twitch.
We live in a condo with 4 units - 2 townhouses back to back, a ranch at one end and then us in the "carriage house" over all four garages. This means that we have windows across the one side of the house and the rain soffets run across our roof line. Despite having complained, we have birds that like to nest in the one corner. And it drives everyone here NUTS!! We can sometimes here them against the one wall....and they fly back and forth all the time.
Yes, her back feet are on a rung on the cat ladder
and her front feet are on the windowsill
If Junior sees them or hears them, he goes nuts. Well Saturday morning they were in full flight and Chanel caught sight of them. Up the ladder she ran and proceeded to climb through the ladder to perch half on the window and chatter at the birds.
See this happens and you no longer wonder why mom is going grey.... hahaha
The little ones are doing good - no pictures as they are just starting to learn to eat and they are MESSY!! Mom did decide on names though....the boy will be Cortland, the girls Fuji and Gala. Both girls have white chest lockets so they may end up wearing collars to be able to tell them apart at a glance. While they act like they would prefer being syringe fed, mom discovered over the weekend that all of them are eating on their own....she is mixing canned food with KMR and they are kind of slurping it up. With no mom to teach them, they will be a little behind the eating curve until they figure it out on their own.

The weather has been pretty nice here so we have some open windows for fresh air and window whiffing. That ladder may be one of the best investments mom ever made.
Daiquiri and Nashville look like they are telling secrets
synchronized snoozing
Acorn is pretty adorable
and pretty fiesty
This is Acorn and Tostada looking out the window
Mostly we did some serious snoozing over the weekend.
Mom found a nippy heart that we won from The Swiss Cats a while ago
She let us have it and it was a huge hit
Junior snuggled up with it
Then Spud gave it a god
The rest of us have been enjoying it as well. Mom also ordered some new toys from Hauspanther to give Daiquiri something different to chase and fetch. In the box were something called skitters that are just the right size for Daiquiri to be able to fetch. So far she loves them. Unfortunately, Mo smacked one into the kitchen and Tim decided to drown it in the water dish....not sure cardboard toys are going to survive that tactic. Anyhow, here she is with her new toy:
Nothing too exciting going on here this weekend....probably not quite warm enough for window wiffies. But mom said stay tuned for a transport story next week.
And there is another special auction going on for a blogging friend. If you can help out, go check it out - there is lots of great stuff (including a couple of ham-micks and those plastic ducks). CLICK HERE
We think that is Faygo following Daiquiri up the tree....they haven't made it up very far yet, but they are loving the lower steps.
Daiquiri treats the ladder like her own personal jungle gym - up down and over. The little kittens was in fascination but aren't quite big enough yet to go from step to step. They can get up on the bottom one, but can't reach up from there ....yet!!
Geez we love this tree..... Mom has had to tighten the blocks at the top a couple of times, but we blame user error rather than design. MOL
When mom was in TN, she got a text from her friend, Miss Rita who is also our pet sitter. She wanted to know who the "mini Tim and Tom" was. Mom had to laugh....Daiquiri certainly does look like the boys - though in actuality, she is more gray than they are.

If you have been following us on Facebook, you would have seen posts about a rescue over the weekend. Mom got an email from a previous adopter about a cat that kept showing up on her back deck. It got more urgent on Sunday when our area got at least 4 inches of snow. Mom went back and forth with Miss Roberta and also the head of the rescue. Finally about 7pm on Sunday night the cat came back to the deck and mom ran over (Miss Roberta lives about 5 minutes from us) and got the cat.
Tuesday mom got her to the local clinic. We got confirmation that she is a girl (mom wasn't sure). She had been previously spayed, but had no microchip. She was tested (negative) and is now vaccinated. She does have quite the "vocabulary" to her....mostly growling at all of us. Mom suspects that it is mostly fear and she will get over it in time. But what to do about a name....
Meet Sonata: (from wikipedia) in music, literally means a piece played as opposed to a cantata (Latin and Italian cantare, "to sing"), a piece sung.
She is pretty tiny weighing just over 7 pounds. She is now safe and everything else....
