weekend update

incoming!!!

The weather got REALLY nice here starting on Friday, so mom opened our windows. Since she was home most of the weekend, she opened the screen door in the foster room and propped open the foster room door while using baby jail as an air lock to keep the kittens inside. Fortunately the kittens haven't figured out how to climb the gate yet, so there were no escapes. It was nice to have some fresh air and a cool breeze through the house. Supposedly it will be nice most of the week so we will have open windows for a few more days. Of course, it is August in the mid-west, so we know it won't last forever.

Of course, if the foster room door is open, some cat will have to go check it out. Daiquiri was in there a couple of times. The first time the kittens put on their stranger danger suits - we think more that they weren't expecting her to drop out of no where. After that, she went in a couple more times but as always there wasn't anything very interesting so she came right back out. Of course, this one time Ivy saw Daiquiri in there but can't defy gravity enough to follow....  MOL

weekend wrapup....

Mom cracked the windows Friday afternoon:
Mo checking out the open window

Ivy and Tim enjoying the fresh air

Nothing like a little fresh air to kick off the weekend. She didn't leave them open over the weekend,
but at least we have some hope that spring is on its way.

Other than that, nothing much went on here.  Just hanging around.

Random Fridays.....

This is how we plan on spending the weekend. Mom has the monthly adoption event at Petco on Sunday. It is supposed to be about 81(F) during the day and cooler at night, so maybe we will try to get in some window whiffin'. Mom says she likes sleeping at night with the windows open.

One of those times you wish for video, but will have to deal with the descriptive:
Mandy and Hobbes were in the playpen in the living room Wednesday evening when they arrived from the rescue. Mandy is QUITE the flirt and was trying to charm everyone....in the vain attempt they could work the zipper to let her out. "Uncle" Tim laid there for a while to keep her company. And then Junior came over to check her out. She was giving him the googly eyes when he sneezed. Scared her so much she jumped - and hit the top of the play pen. She hit the ground running and promptly scared poor Junior.  :)

Miller is a goof.....he kinda of reminds us of Bourbon in that nothing-bothers-him-much slight goofy shake-you-head-at-him sorta way.

Hope you all have a great weekend!!!

Finally Friday.....

It has been a long week. But - at least the weather has been warm (though rainy today) and we are getting in some serious window whiffin.

Nothing much going on this weekend. Mom said something about basketball and March Madness. Guess that means more yelling at the TV. :)

We plan to just hang out and enjoy ourselves!!

Thankful Thursday......

We know other have posted about this too, but we wanted to add our support to the work of Petsmart Charities Relief Waggin' as they are in Florida. There was a place called Caboodle Ranch that has been shut down due to the conditions there. We had heard good things about this place a few years ago but recently had heard some disturbing things. We hope the gentleman running this place is getting some help and we are glad that several groups have stepped forward to help the cats. We will be purring for all of them....

We had VERY nice weather here yesterday and got some serious window whiffin time - even if mom forgot to use the camera. However, she was muttering something about 4 feet of snow in July if this weather keeps up. We don't think it is really going to snow here in O-hi-o in July, but she seemed convinced. MOL

Cheerio update: mom got him out again last night. Normally she would leave him out during the day, but he is so shy that she is afraid he will get himself in somewhere and she won't be able to find him. At least if she is home she can keep an eye on him. He got down from her arms after about 20 minutes and went under the end table again. Mom heard a hiss a while later and looked over to see Junior with his head and shoulders under the table - we think Junior may have gotten a little too close. :)

Cheerio did wander out from under there before the evening was out - he made it about 2 feet and then went back underneath. Mom says she will be home a good part of the weekend and we are going to give him more time out to see what happens. He is a sweet boy and just needs to brave up a little.

weekend update....

Our weekend was good - windows open on Saturday but it got warm again on Sunday and the windows were closed.. Since we live on the second floor, it gets warm pretty quick. Will fall be here soon???

The gremlins are having a good time. They are pretty active and fun to watch. Greta is still pretty fearful of the adults - fine if she has her space. But she got cornered by Junior last night when he decided to try to play with everyone and she had a screaming fit!!! Poor Junior slunk off...... Mom still is going to try to get video of him "playing" with the kittens.

Oh - and THANK YOU to everyone who participated in our comment-a-thon. Mom will be making her donation this week!!!

On Saturday, Mom transported....
A POLAR BEAR

It was not a polar bear - this is Chumlee a 2 yr old Great Pryenees on his way to his forever home. He is just like your cousin dog Minnie.

If you say so, but we have never seen this Minnie creature either, so she could be a polar bear too.....

     sigh....

Oh, and mom found something for the car that she wants to talk about....
If you look behind Chumlee, you can see a tan cover on the car seats. My mom was ordering from Harriet Carter getting these clips for seatbelts that you can use to move the shoulder strap over and keep it from digging into your neck (my other set was in my previous car and mom wanted a set for the truck). On the opposite page was a Pet seat cover. For the price, I figured it was worth a try. Now, it is one size fits all, so the fit isn't perfect. But...it kept the dog hair out of the hatchback, the dog could be in the back seat and not have to jump into the hatchback, and it kept toenails off my leather seats. On cloth seats, this would be HUGE!! Now, I wasn't asked do to this review, bought it of my own accord, but this was great. (oh and be careful on their website.... you will wander around and discover all sorts of things you never knew you needed. LOL)
