new toy

We don't normally get in on the ground floor of new toys or inventions, but our friend Miss Debbie from Glogirly was talking about this toy called Sheer Fun for Cats and it being a kickstarter thing, so mom checked it out and we got in on it. The campaign went through and we got our new toy last week.

It comes with velcro tabs to hold it in place on a table or chair or whatever. We don't have that many places in our condo, but mom found this one and it is working pretty well. Daiquiri hides behind it and Chanel sits on top and tries to kill it.

We also got some felt toys. So far the girls aren't all that interested in those, but mom threw one into the foster room and one of the boys grabbed it and growled at anyone who came near him.  MOL

While they weren't interested while she was in there with the camera (go figure), she has heard them playing with it and it ends up in different places in the room.

Mom took them on Sunday to an adoption event just to get them used to being out and in different situations. Roadrunner decided pretty quickly that being social wasn't her thing. She could be held but pretty much wanted back in the crate. Coyote was curious though jumpy. And then a store clerk broke out a wand toy and he was ALL about that.

Our friends Lola and Lexy from Lola the Rescued Cat sent mom a message asking if the kittens would enjoy a Catit racetrack. Now we've seen these before but haven't had one so mom said sure...those kittens love having things to chase.

Well, it came in the mail the other day and mom got it out and put it together.

So far the kittens are pretty fascinated. Mom put it together quickly before realizing that some of the pieces have humps in them. And she managed to snap all of those pieces together. MOL  She took it back apart and put it in a slightly different configuration too so it doesn't take up quite so much floor space. The kittens seem to have a good time running along it and then sticking a paw in a hole to try to get the ball. She has also seen it in a racetrack configuration and is going to try to figure that out. (good luck)

a bug

Miss Amy from Sebastian the Sensitive Soul had a contest to give away a hex bug toy. And...we won!!!

Mom was interested. She has read that it works better on tile floor, so she got it out and put it down in the kitchen since that is the main space without carpet in our house.

Daiquiri was the only one that seemed interested. Mom let her check it out before turning it on. And then mom spent about forever about 5 minutes trying to get it back out from under the washing machine. It bounced around and around and right under the washer. Mom banged around quite a bit and shook the washer and then the bug came back out on its own.

The adults were a little weirded out by the noise, but for a first time, not bad. Daiquiri was good - until it touched her.....

Thanks to Miss Amy and all the cats over there. We can't wait to try it out again.....

Da Bourb here with your kitten update.

Well, da foster-mom-lady took Opal and Cory to dat Petco place to spend a few days with their mommy.  What? Oh, to try and get dem some new forever homes.  Yeah, dat too. No luck with homes yet though - seems that some rescue with funny lookin dogs (greyhounds) was taking pictures with Santy Claws and I don't think the tiny kids got much attention. We shall see....


Da Shine and Da Bill are still here. Miss Beckie said something about maybe da Bill having a home for catmas. Da foster-mom-lady heard back from Miss Beckie and Uncle Bill will be leaving up next week to live with his new forever family - another cat, a woofie and his own kid. Yeah Uncle Bill....

Emma and Kyan will be here until Emma gets big enough for her surgery. She be pretty tiny, so no tellin when dat might happen.

Dem kitties over at Prancer Pie did win the petsmart gift card that Brian donated to the auction. But rather than keep it, they had Brian send it here. THANK YOU Prancer!! I got to go shopping with da foster-mom-lady. She forgetted the flashy box, so no shopping pics. BUT.......  we gotted one of those ess thingies that other kitties have. Holy cats....it is awesome.  And ALL MINE!!!

What is that foster-mom-lady?  Share? No thanks.....

She bought a bigger new cardboard scratcher too since the other one was kinda trashed. And some pawsome snacks that we haven't had yet.

YEAH!!! We got our Secret Paws 2011 presents!!  We got our from Penny and Tippy - known as the Meow_Girls....BUT they aren't online with a blog!!!  Girls....if you are reading this - THANK YOU and get on the CB with us!!

We love the treats and the new toys. There were jingly balls and FEVVERS!!!  The kittens got in on the action as well...
