Junior

If you follow us on socials, you already know this. But Junior had been declining for a while and mom made the decision last Tuesday to let him go. It's always been a little harder with him since he never really socialized after being caught. But he lived a comfortable indoor life for 16 years.

Mom has been gone some too. Last weekend to visit her parents and this past weekend to see a cousin get married. Boba was most excited she was home.

Wren is growing and should be spayed soon. Puffin was adopted and went home last week and will have 2 kids to spoil him and keep him busy.

Kira and the kittens are doing well. They are all friendly and charmed the pet sitter both weekends.

about that time

Puffin is big enough and ready to be neutered. He goes on Tuesday and then to a partner store. Wren still isn't big enough so probably another couple of weeks.

Kira and the littles are doing well. The kittens are eating but still nursing as well. Kira is a great mom but at times we can tell she is ready to be done.

*I really tried to load pictures to this but blogger is being weird. Be sure to follow us on social media for new pictures

names

Puffin goes this week to get neutered and the he's ready for adoption. He's very sweet but definitely will need a playmate since he has energy to burn. Most of the time...

Wren isn't quite big enough to be spayed yet so she will be here a little bit longer. Don't feel too bad about them being split up. Wren is probably looking forward to done peace and quiet considering her brother plays pretty rough.

Momma and kittens are doing great. At least a couple are eating canned food though we suspect they all probably are just haven't been caught in the act. And we finally have names...

All named after Italian alcohols. 3 boys - Amaro, Campari and Sabuca, and 2 girls - Aperol and Frangelico.

fall is here

We are enjoying the windows being open and mom says she is going to hopefully enjoy a break on the electric bill.

Wren and Puffin are still here. Puffin is big enough to be neutered but Wren is still too small. Since the clinic is across town, the rescue is fortunately flexible about letting mom wait to take them until they are both ready.

We also got a new family to foster. This means Wren and Puffin are out during the day and sleep in the crate at night. It's going pretty well.

The new momma cat is Kira (named by the guy who found her). She is very sweet and kind of chatty. She's doing a great job taking care of 5 kittens. The kittens are about a month old. They are playing and exploring and are very social. 3 boys and 2 girls....still working on names.

fun and games

First an update: Persimmon is doing great and they kept her name. She is doing great and her pre-teen human loves her very much.

Wren and Puffin got some freedom this weekend. Mom wanted to see how they did outside the foster room and it went pretty well.

We had a fairly uneventful weekend. We were hoping it would be open eindow weather but it was just too humid. But hopefully starting this week we will have cooler weather.

Nothing too exciting here other than standard kitten shenanigans. Have a great week!

updates

Ikea was adopted!! We love a quick and easy foster with a quick adoption. No doubt her yelling at people at tge store made a difference.

The little girls are doing great. Playing hard and trying to escape the foster room.

Mom put a box over Wren and that led to a new game.

We are all doing well. We had a couple of nice days when the windows could be open but apparently we have moved on to something like 3rd summer.

long weekend

In unfair news, our air conditioning started acting funny Thursday. That night was pretty miserable and Friday was hot and sticky. Luckily a technician was able to come out and repair it so the cold air was back. But we would all very much like fall to hurry up to it's cooler and we get more open window time.

In good news, Stormy was adopted last week and Persimmon was adopted on Sunday. She went home with a young girl as her new person.

Ikea is now at the partner store and was yelling complaints at the store clerks as mom left. Haha! We suspect she will be adopted in no time.

Wren and Puffin graduated out of the playpen and now have access to the entire foster room. They are both super friendly and playful and gaining weight.

newbies

Persimmon is doing great at the store and has had some adoption interest so hopefully she goes home soon.

Ikea is doing well and should go to a partner store this weekend.

Thursday night mom got a call from the rescue about 2 kittens on a construction site. Mom is very feral and will be spayed. But she moved the kittens to an unsafe spot and their eyes were pretty crusty, so to be safe the rescue picked them up. They are friendly which was surprising and needed to be supplemented with KMR but also sort of eating on their own. After just a few days of meds they look so much better. Meet Puffin (female tabby and white) and Wren (female torbie).
