If you only had one cat or perhaps two it sounds great. With 16 kittens in the rescue room though I go thru two 40 lb bags twice a month at least. My own 4 adult cats have two big high boxes. If the litter is supposed to be a couple inches deep you'd need more than one bag per cat wouldn't you? Also agreed that if you had a sick kitty and small box when they are recovering it would be good too! That KS for the review! I have used a few big bags of Dr. Elseys's because it said 99% dust free... I wonder how they come to that calculation?! It's pretty dusty in my book. I commented above, that I have been using baby chicken crumbles (not crumbles of baby chickens... it's food for baby chickens) :) Non medicated, and no extra calcium added (chickens need calcium to produce good eggs). You need a scooper with bigger holes than most of the scoopers (they're out there!), but it's quite economical. 50 lbs for $18 at our local feed store. It doesn't clump super hard, but it's so close to Worlds Best Cat Litter, I just try not to scoop right away, it firms up over a little bit of time. I suppose you also have to live in a more rural area to have a feed store around...EmilyTheChefhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00326276350115933891noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5048142180280267442.post-37877747288346156082016-08-25T21:41:52.389-04:002016-08-25T21:41:52.389-04:00I love Worlds Best Cat litter too! If you don'...I love Worlds Best Cat litter too! If you don't mind a little frustration for a good savings, you may want to try Chicken food! Baby Chicken CRUMBLES is so darn close to Worlds Best, but in the states I pay $18 for 50 pounds. The only problems I have with it are the crumbles are a little bigger than Worlds Best, so you have to get a scooper that has a little bit bigger holes, and it doesn't make super tight clumps. But I can guarantee you'll also never need a chisel to get it off the bottom of the litter box :)EmilyTheChefhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00326276350115933891noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5048142180280267442.post-6110316065678534172016-08-25T20:55:47.149-04:002016-08-25T20:55:47.149-04:00This looks like an interesting litter...we might t...This looks like an interesting litter...we might try it. We've been using Dr. Elsey's for a number of years and this sounds like it's very similar. We don't find the Dr. Elsey's to be very dusty, but then the mom usually pours it slowly so that it doesn't kick up a lot of dust. Aside from the enormously egotistical name, it is very good: very little dust, even when poured, it clumps very well and is organic (made from corn), so it can be flushed down the toilet if need be, and if thrown out, it will decay eventually. It is pricey, too: $45 for 28 pounds (Canadian price), but worth it.John Bellenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10946140614088069665noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5048142180280267442.post-50793373903134074162016-08-25T06:54:10.400-04:002016-08-25T06:54:10.400-04:00We're always looking for a better litter.
