The vet herself suggested the titer last summer because one was having some health issues. He was fine. All the others have had yearly vax and one (who is mainly outdoors) managed to avoid it al together -first time she has missed it. Thanks for this info ! I am in Medina County, which "requires" yearly vax. Next door is Summit County, where had a vet for awhile. There - same vax - it is only required every three years. catladymachttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04033830580059786017noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5048142180280267442.post-92031918921789550182023-04-18T20:43:26.419-04:002023-04-18T20:43:26.419-04:00I stopped vaccinating when Ollie passed of vaccine...I stopped vaccinating when Ollie passed of vaccine associated sarcoma. My reading says the fvrcp vax lasts 7+ years. Many vaccine experts believe that you only need one for life long immunity.

One of my cats has only had one rabies vaccine and I titer tested him when he was 7 or 8. Now keep in mind this was a one year vaccine.. his titers were well in the "fully protected " range.

I hate that we can't use titers as proof, I hate how expensive titers are. And I hate that vets who are not vaccinologists set policy for how frequently we vaccinate our pets - which has little to do with how long the vaccine lastsConnie - Tails from the Foster Kittenshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01127077337743262149noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5048142180280267442.post-60823096854812790042023-04-18T20:21:26.869-04:002023-04-18T20:21:26.869-04:00My 15 year old Felix only gets the rabies vaccinat...My 15 year old Felix only gets the rabies vaccination.
