Random Fridays

a girl and her favorite toy

Ivy LOVES this bed
mom moved it to a different spot (this one)
and Ivy spends a lot of her time on it now

We have mentioned on social media that Miss Dragon wasn't feeling so well. She has a virus called calici - which makes her stuffed up and also causes lesion (sores) in her mouth. She wasn't eating for several days and mom was having to syringe feed her. Despite not feeling well, Dragon has some serious ninja skills and mom has been sliced up by the baby claws (yes Dragon got a manicure - no it doesn't make much difference). Thankfully Dragon has started eating again on her own and we seem to be over the hump with her. One side of her nose is pretty swollen so she whistles while she breathes and HATES getting her nose cleaned. Her mouth is still pretty sore but it is being managed. And she screams like a lunatic when Gargoyle jumps on her trying to play.

  1. It's never fun when the children are sick. But I too have been cut up just recently by kitten-claws. Don't they know they are being rescued??

  2. It's good to hear that Dragon feels better. It sounds like Gargoyle needs a punching bag, not another kitten.

  3. I recall when we took kittens Angel and Chuck to the vet for their first visit, and they clawed up the vet pretty good! She showed us how to trim their claws, and The Hubby continued that practice. However, he doesn't trim Da Boyz, since he doesn't like making them mad...Hahaha!...and they know how to NOT scratch us, but they are adults. Sending hugs and purrs to Dragon, hoping she heals quickly now.

  4. My human vaguely remembers Binga having something like this when she was a newly-rescued kitten.

  5. Hope Dragon is all better - our Oscar has to take some horrible tasting medicing and our Mom needs first aid afterward.

  6. We're sending our purrs for little Dragon. We hope her mouth and nose clear up soon.

  8. Awww ... Calici is awful. Our rescue has had a lot of this year but thankfully it seems to be a very weak strain. Glad she's on the mend!
