comfy

Such a shame she can't relax.

Chanel had a good weekend. She went out with mom on Saturday to Petsmart and the to another small local pet store. She won't walk, but she did get to ride in the cart at Petsmart and seemed to enjoy that. She got to see the fish and almost launched herself at the birds. MOL

Everyone is settling in to a new routine. Thank you so much for the condolences for Tommy both here and on Facebook. There were really no warning signs. His last vet appointment went well and his bloodwork from last fall was very good. He had been losing some weight but everyone agreed it may have been more age related than anything else. He just seemed to crash early Friday morning. Mom didn't want to take him to the er vet and play 20 questions with someone she had never met. Unfortunately our vet was out of town but we have another local vet that the rescue uses and mom was able to get in there with him. He has certainly left a blank spot in the house, our hearts and the foot of the bed.

  1. So glad Chanel came to live with you. She looks so comfy. So sorry about Tommy. It sure leaves and empty spot. Have a good day.

  2. The poor birds probably almost had a heart attack. :-D

I remember reading, years ago, someone's comment on a post that we never get over the loss, we only become accustomed to the absence.

That's the way of it. :-(

    Sending hugs and purrs.

  3. Am betting that Angel Tommy is glad that Chanel came along at just the right time; he wanted the cat count to stay, when he knew he would be leaving.

  4. She definitely looks happy. We know it's hard to adjust to the loss of a loved one, but Chanel will help with that, we think.

  5. Awww ... Chanel looks right at home. Maybe she thought she could catch her dinner at the store - saving you from having to buy it ;)

  7. Chanel really has settled in. Does she like treats? I bet you could get her to walk for her favorites... or to chase a toy! Try it at home first with her just wearing the harness, then with the leash on.

    1. we tried a toy at one of the stores - she laid on the floor and batted at it. she did wander some at the first Starbucks, so we think she just doesn't care :)

  10. Now I want to give you a hug and then take a nap (and possibly not in that order even though I know that would be the polite thing to do)

  11. Chanel definitely feels at home. We think she came at the right time though Tommy will never be replaced. Mom bean says they never are.
