weekend report

The weekend started out hot and humid and moved on to hot and humid and rainy. Mom spent most of the weekend in the house with us. She met a friend Saturday morning for breakfast (and said it was very nommy...gonna eat there again), took Melbourne up to the adoption center (he is healthy and can go to the adoption floor once he is neutered), got come groceries and came home. She watched the Olympics on Saturday....snoozing sometimes with Juniper.

On Sunday mom moved the patriot kittens into the tower. Freedom is pretty snotty and on new meds. The tower makes it easier to catch them both to medicate them. Plus mom hopes a smaller space will help change Liberty's mind about people....she is pretty jumpy and puts up a fight when grabbed. Which won't help her adoptability.

  1. The patriot kittens are super cute. Hope the tower helps Liberty socialize.

  2. Could Liberty's skittishness have to do with his sight, with his eye?

  3. Hope Liberty is feeling better soon. That tower idea is great for catching those that need medication.

Sweet Liberty. Maybe she just needs time to adjust?

  5. Aw, I know you'll have that hissy kitten cuddling in your lap before too long!

  6. Sounds like a nice, relaxing weekend! Paws crossed Freedom's snottiness clears up soon and Liberty learns that humans are cool just as quick!

  7. Liberty will come around, and so will Freedom, but I sympathize with your frustration.

  8. Good for you for working so hard with Liberty. Our foster, Miss Itty, is the same way and she still gets at least one daily pickup, hug, and multi kisses. Still complains and struggles upon initial pickup, but now she relaxes in Mom's arms and naps in Dad's lap. Good luck!

  9. They are so cute. Which makes the scaredy cat ness so much more frustrating for you.

  10. At least having them in the tower means they won't make any unauthorized escapes over the doors of the kitten room! We hope Freedom's nose clears up soon. We're sure that Liberty will come around now that there's nowhere to run.

  11. Great. Now the mom is threatening to put me in a tower so that she can catch me to give me my medicine. ~Ernie
