weekend report

We hope you all had a safe weekend. Good news - mom brought home some turkey and she shared a bite with each of us!!

The rescue had an adoption special this weekend. Lots of adoptions (no final numbers yet), and this guy went home too (mom wants to pull his paperwork and hopes he went home with another kitten):
Almond got adopted on Friday

Acorn saw our rescue vet on Wednesday and got the ok to move forward with her surgery and  then get her out there to be adopted. If you look close at the first picture of her, the left eye is clouded over. She got an eye infection about a month ago and developed an ulcer. It healed but left a scar on her cornea. She seems to see something from it, though not perfectly. It isn't causing her pain or bothering her, so she is good to go.

Tommy spent Sunday just hanging around.

Everyone is pretty happy mom is home. Two of the city kittens are friendlier now and mom will continue to work with the other two. Since they are vaccinated, the gate is up in front of the door and Daiquiri has already gone visiting.

  1. That Almond is a cat who can find fun anywhere, obviously. he'll certainly entertain his new family. Good for him for finding a home. And I'm glad Acorn isn't in discomfort over her eye, poor thing. Let's hope she meets a family who will see beyond cloudy eyes.

  2. Almond is so funny! My half brother (who is in my blog post today) used to chase his tail in the ring cage while waiting to be judged! He seems to have outgrown it now. Paws crossed that Acorn's spay goes well and she finds a home quickly!

  4. Glad to hear your adoption event was successful; the one I volunteered at this Sunday was so quiet...it's kind of sad, since the four kittens are just adorable. Maybe next week!

  7. Oh Almond, we are so glad that you found a good home. And Acorn, we hope you find that wonderful home really soon. Glad the eye is doing all right. Daiquiri, does enjoy being a social bug. Have a great day.

  9. that is the fun part of naming kittens after nuts, all the puns you get to make.

Fleurp has a scarred cornea. She had a bit of an issue with depth perception as she was growing but once she figured it out you would never know she has any vision impairment.

    1. Mo has one too and had the same issue. Acorn is pretty good - though she tends to touch the water in the dish before taking a drink.
