a night at the shelter....

As most of you know, mom spends a couple of nights every other week at the shelter helping to clean and playing with the kitties. (yes, she has to write it on the calendar to remember which week she is on).

Anyhow, she took her camera the other night and thought she would give you some pictures of the kitties.

someone alert Daisy the curly cat - we found another curly cat!
Mom saw the note on the web about King Tut being a Devon Rex,
but thought maybe it was a "marketing" idea - until she got there and saw him.
He is 10 years old - returned after being adopted 5 years ago. sigh....

  2. Oh Amanda..you dear girl. I'm glad you are happy enough to be playing like that and mommy sends thanks to all volunteers who come and pet and socialize and help keep the babies comfortable there.

HOW in the world can you keep a cat 5 years and return him? At least they didn't turn him out or abandon him. He looks so much like Daisy in that last picture..his face and expression.

  3. King Tut does look just like Daisy. That is horrible to take a cat back after five years. I just don't see how people can do that. I totally agree that it is so wonderful that there are volunteers like you that actually play with the shelter cats. Love Amanda taking the mouse away. Good stuff.

All the cats look so well taken care of and happy! Thanks for the great work. Hopefully they will all find forever homes soon.Sucks about King Tut. He sure looks sweet :)

  6. How sad to have to return a cat. At least, as someone said above they did not put him out on the street. He does look like Daisy.

  7. Are you sure King Tut isn't Daisy's brother!

  8. I agree with Marg about King Tut. What kind of human being can have a cat for 5 years and not become attached to it? A sorry kind.

  9. My human loves Amanda - she has always been partial to longhaired calicos. All the kitties look awesome - I hope there are good homes out there waiting for them!

Shame on the human who returned King Tut after FIVE years! But that's a lot better than dumping him on the streets.

  16. Amanda, that video clip just shows you off so well. Hoping the sweeties quickly find furever homes. (And a special hug to King Tut. He must be so confused and anxious.)

  17. They are all so handsome and deserving of a real home filled with real love and safety. White Dog positive woos that each is found by their perfect forever family soon.

  18. We know all shelter kitties want forever homes, but that shelter seems like a nicer place than we think most shelter kitties live in.
